As the title says, I'm trying to find a good program for making maps, mainly multi floor castles, with dungeon areas beneath them, and large overland maps of the campaign world(though the dungeon/castle maps are more important, as I can make fairly good overland maps just by drawing them),
Anyone know any mapping programs that I can use to make sure the castle floors match up?, And that I can use to copy paste symbols to keep the layout of the maps understandable to my PCs

Try http://www.myth-weavers.com/generate_dungeon.php (http://www.myth-weavers.com/generate_dungeon.php) It works pretty well.

Also http://donjon.bin.sh/d20/dungeon/

Are you asking for a program to create dungeons for you, or are you asking for a program to map out dungeons that you've already created?

The hexographer program was the kind of prgram I was looking for, for making overland maps, and the dungeonmapper looks like I could help me make maps my players can understand better

Maptools works quite well. Even better if you have players out of state so they can see what is going on.

Actually I'm planning on using these sorts of maps to help with a local game I'm DMing, and having them either represent maps the characters buy from a cartographer or maps the characters find as loot.
