(I can scroll back to take a look later on, and if I don't then it's my fault now, isn't it? :3)

Play any deck you like, sir. My prefference is for any that are undefeated.

____________________

"You are an odd one..." The red haired beauty remarks as she calls upon the forest to grow. Massive trees rise up from seemingly dead ground to reach incredible heights within a few short moments. Swinging forth on vines from the forest is an elf that appears to be covered in bits of copper wielding a blade that is slick with black oil. "...but you will not last long."

The woman slides one hand over the other to create a long tendril of energy. The electric form solidfies into a whip made of spiked chain still alive with the primal energies that created it. She smirks as her copper elf slides in close to the other planeswalker, cutting him once with the oil tainted blade. "And so it begins."

(( Infect (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=magic+the+gathering+infect+rules&l=1) creatures do damage as poison counters to players and as -1/-1 counters to creatures. Once a player has 10 poison counters they lose the game, regardless of their current heath total (which does not decrease due to infect damage). Poison counters cannot be removed by any known card or effect to date, but they can be increased by another mechanic known as Proliferate. Proliferate chooses any number of players and/or permanents and adds one more counter to them of a type of counter they already have. Poison counters are legal targets for this effect.)

Turn 3
____________________

The red lady hands the elf the electric whip, smirking as the elf uses it against the foolish planeswalker who would stand against its mistress. "Can you feel it? The oil will have you yet... and then we shall bring Phyrexia to glory together!!!" The laughter that followed was horrid and entrancing at the same moment.

Step 3 fails. If a creature is declared blocked, the damage does not go through even if the blocker is destroyed before combat damage.

Okizruin: You CAN kill a creature while blockers are still being declared, and the damage would go through, but the defending player can declare more blockers.

Volos: your post says it's in responce to the blocker Being Declared, not "after blocking but before combat damage is dealt", so I'm going to proceed with declaring the additional blocker.

Elf and *both* tokens die, THEN my turn begins.

The armored figure smiles slowly behind his faceguard, the shining helm masking his furrowed brow.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Try to fool me twice, well, that's what ambushes are for."
Somberly, the figure rests a single feather over the graves that materialize for his brave soldiers, taking solace that they died for a good cause: To end the threat of Phyrexia.

Acanous, there have been some serious miscommunications on either side of my last turn. So allow me to point out something to you, from the Comprehensive Rules. The steps for the Declare Blockers Step have been bolded with some relevant sections attached without bold. I will give you the tldr version after the rules quote.

509. Declare Blockers Step

509.1. First, the defending player declares blockers. This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack. To declare blockers, the defending player follows the steps below, in order. If at any point during the declaration of blockers, the defending player is unable to comply with any of the steps listed below, the declaration is illegal; the game returns to the moment before the declaration (see rule 716, “Handling Illegal Actions”).

509.1a The defending player chooses which creatures that he or she controls, if any, will block. The chosen creatures must be untapped. For each of the chosen creatures, the defending player chooses one creature for it to block that’s attacking him, her, or a planeswalker he or she controls.

509.1g Each chosen creature still controlled by the defending player becomes a blocking creature. Each one is blocking the attacking creatures chosen for it. It remains a blocking creature until it’s removed from combat or the combat phase ends, whichever comes first. See rule 506.4.

509.1h An attacking creature with one or more creatures declared as blockers for it becomes a blocked creature; one with no creatures declared as blockers for it becomes an unblocked creature. This remains unchanged until the creature is removed from combat, an effect says that it becomes blocked or unblocked, or the combat phase ends, whichever comes first. A creature remains blocked even if all the creatures blocking it are removed from combat.

509.2. Second, for each attacking creature that’s become blocked, the active player announces that creature’s damage assignment order, which consists of the creatures blocking it in an order of that player’s choice. (During the combat damage step, an attacking creature can’t assign combat damage to a creature that’s blocking it unless each creature ahead of that blocking creature in its order is assigned lethal damage.) This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack.

509.2a During the declare blockers step, if a blocking creature is removed from combat or a spell or ability causes it to stop blocking an attacking creature, the blocking creature is removed from all relevant damage assignment orders. The relative order among the remaining blocking creatures is unchanged.

509.3. Third, for each blocking creature, the defending player announces that creature’s damage assignment order, which consists of the creatures it’s blocking in an order of that player’s choice. (During the combat damage step, a blocking creature can’t assign combat damage to a creature it’s blocking unless each creature ahead of that blocked creature in its order is assigned lethal damage.) This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack.

509.4. Fourth, any abilities that triggered on blockers being declared go on the stack. (See rule 603,“Handling Triggered Abilities.”)

509.5. Fifth, the active player gets priority. Players may cast spells and activate abilities.

First, when you entered the declare blockers step you had to first declare all blockers. This is a turn based action that does not use the stack, and therefor cannot be responded to with instants, activated abilities, or any other instant/flash speed actions.

Second, I would choose the creature’s damage assignment order. There was only one creature declared as a blocker so I only had one choice. Note, we are still in the declare blockers step not the combat damage step.

Third, you would choose your creature’s damage assignment order. Since you were only blocking one creature you only had one choice. Note, we are still in the declare blockers step not the combat damage step.

Fourth, any triggered abilites on blockers begin declared go onto the stack.

Finally Fifth, I get priorty and am allowed to cast spells and activate abilites.

tldr; I couldn't cast my spell until after you declared all of your blockers. My wording earlier that I was responding to your blocker being declared was in refrence to us reaching the fifth step of the declare blockers step, not an attempt to illegally cast an instant in the middle of the first step.

As things stand, if we decide to continue with what legal actions we have taken this would be the result of my attack... I attack, you declared one blocker, I responded at the end of the declare blockers step and remove your creature by way of damage, my attack goes through and you take 3 poison counters, and my creature survives.

Or, we can agree to start my attack step over now knowing what we do about how the declare blockers step. You would probably try to block with block of your creatures knowing that I could take one out before the damage step, I cast my spell on my creature which triggers its ability from the equipment and have it do 2 poison counters to you directly rather than to your creature, our creatures kill each other.

So what will it be?

pretty sure 509.1h means that the creature would count as being blocked even if you killed the blocker with direct damage (As per Okizruin's interpretation), only removing it's damage. (Blocked creatures deal no damage to players unless they have Trample, even if the creature blocking them takes lethal damage from other sources)

The way they ordered that really doesn't make much sense, they should have put 509.4 in front of 509.2 in terms of order of operations to clarify weather you could kill creatures before they block (As it stands, it looks like you can't, but it ALSO looks like you can't cast any spells until after damage is dealt and that can't be right. Unless the damage itself goes on the stack, which would work...) but meh. I'm OK with taking 2 poison counters and getting on with the game. Clears up for me that it's the creature that deals the direct damage, and not the artefact XD. I don't really want to meta it, though, as I had no way of knowing that you would be able to cast. If blocking with 2 things is the only way to kill the elf, and it'd involve me taking the poison... well, I really want that elf dead.

Edit: For the sake of clarity, how I read that order is as follows:
Blocking creatures are declared. Attacker and blocker damage is assigned and put on the stack. Creature abilities trigger, increasing or decreasing power/toughness, then spells come into play on the stack. So when a creature is blocked, they have to assign to the blocking creature, even if a spell later kills that creature.

Further Edit: Under this interpretation, the combat would proceed like so, based on our stated actions;
You declare attackers. In response, I play the instant granting me 2 soldier tokens. At this point, you may choose to cast your instant, offing one of the tokens, or dealing me 2 counters.
No matter what your choice there is, I block with one token as stated.
at this point, attacker and blocker damage goes on the stack. if you did not cast your instant, you may choose to do so, targetting the blocker, the other token, or myself with the triggered ability. If you target the blocker, it removes his damage from the stack, and the elf would live, but I would take no poison. If you chose to deal poison to the other token, then both tokens and the elf die, and I take no poison. If you choose to deal poison to me, the elf and one token die, I take 2 poison and one token lives.

Does this sound correct?

Final edit: no matter which course you take, unless you take the option where I have a token left, my turn remains the same. If I have a token and you have no defenders, I attack with it for 1.

I'm not sure how you're stull confused...

You casted your instant at the end of the Declare Attackers Step.

I casted my instant at the end of the Declare Blockers Step.

Then we enter the Combat Damage Step and damage gets done.

...how are you not understanding this?

I'm going to opt out of this game, simply because I have never had this much trouble over a simple MtG game.

Arg. Sorry for the confusion. The problem is, it seems like you could be making either of two different arguments. I will address them as I see them.

First: If you kill a creature before it "Blocks", arguing that the blocking creature cannot block because it is in the graveyard, and thus damage goes through... The creature counts as an illegal blocker, and thus

If at any point during the declaration of blockers, the defending player is unable to comply with any of the steps listed below, the declaration is illegal; the game returns to the moment before the declaration
In which case I am free to declare additional blockers. That results in "Both tokens and elf dead, no poison added to me" result.

Second: If you kill a creature WHILE it blocks, that creature still counts as blocking, but deals no damage and damage from the attacking creature does not carry through to the player. This results in "One token dead, elf and one token live, no poison added to me".

In the first scenerio, you would carry damage through, if I had no other available creatures which could be assigned as blocking. In the second, you would need an effect like Trample to carry the damage over.
