Gaming Friends,
I've just finished editing a book called BARBARIANS: A HANDBOOK FOR ASPIRING SAVAGES. It's a satire of barbarian B-movies in which a mock anthropologist, Byron Clavicle, has compiled his observations of barbarian culture while the captive of a barbarian native informant named Grüte Skullbasher.
There's a lot of gaming humor in the book, which includes features like:
- How to Dress Like a Barbarian
- Barbarian Bible Stories
- Know Your Villains!
- Barbarian Mathematics
- Barbarians and Their Dogs
- The BAT (Barbarian Aptitude Test)
To top it off, the book is illustrated by a really awesome young illustrator named Joshua Kemble who has created some really hilarious barbarian cartoons ("How to Dress ... " is accompanied by his and hers paper dolls).
I think the world needs this book (especially in the wake of the Conan reboot) and I'd like to get the word out . Any advice or just your thoughts on the concept would be appreciated. So far, we have a website, http://www.skullbasher.com, and the author has created a Facebook profile for Grüte Skullbasher and is actively tweeting in character. Find him and friend him—I promise he won't eat your face.
Anyway, thanks for your support!
