Is there a way to make spells emanate instead of burst? Also would sculpt spell let you choose whether the spell emanates or bursts?

Sculpt spells allows you to change a spells area; a cylinder (10-foot radius, 30 feet high), a 40-foot cone, four 10-foot cubes, a ball (20-foot-radius spread), or a 120-foot line.

"An emanation spell functions like a burst spell, except that the effect continues to radiate from the point of origin for the duration of the spell. Most emanations are cones or spheres. Example: detect magic. " -- PHB 175

If you mean making something like the light spell an emanate, it already is if you cast it on a object.

If you mean you want to take a spell like bless (burst spell for who it affects) and change it into an emanation (so it affects any ally who enters the area) then you have to make it a continuous effect (similar to added bless to a hollow spell). Unfortunately there are no meta magic feats that do this.

The closest would be Persistent Spell which would affect everyone the bless affects for 24 hours, but not make the bless spell affect new people.

I would ask you DM if you could make something that did this or even create a spell like hallow for wizards (ties specific spell, to specific area but without all the bonuses against undead).

I don’t think it’s too powerful to have a metamagic feat that makes non-Instantaneous spells that have a burst emanate.

+1 spell level version – Target spell with a burst effect now has an emanation effect, spell automatically ends for affected target if it leaves the burst area. Does not affect spells with duration of “Instantaneous”, “Concentration”, or “Permanent”
-- This version would allow you to affect allies who come in after you cast the spell to still gain its benefits, but wouldn’t allow them to leave the area and still retain the benefits. The reason for this is so you don’t have 100 people just run through the emanation to gain the effect.

+3 spell level version – Target spell with a burst effect now has an emanation effect. Duration for each target is as per the duration of the original spell. Does not affect spells with duration of “Instantaneous”, “Concentration”, or “Permanent”
-- This version would allow 100 people to run through the emanation to gain the effect.
