I see Phrenic brought up a lot (esp for Cha focused classes), and I see why (some actually USEFUL PLA, which are very useful because of how PSA and augments work, healthy stat boosts, psionic feats, and spell/psi resist). How would one go about focuses on it though? Asumming LA buy-off is in place.

Is it better for a Cha caster for versatility (but very major hit of 2 CL in the early game), or a Cha using martial combatant for being able to do something other than whack people?

I know some FR feat let you triple racial SLA uses/day (Magic in the Blood I think?) and Phrenic's are considered racial for it. Anything else that can boost it?

For one thing, "Psi-Like Abilities (Sp (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#spellLikeAbilities))" can be Quickened (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsterFeats.htm#quickenSpellLikeAbility), Empowered (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsterFeats.htm#empowerSpellLikeAbility), and Maximized (CA) (looking at Mind Thrust for those last two). You can get Maximize for Mind Thrust at 6th level, Quicken is a higher level option but definitely worth considering.

Ah, didn't know they could be applied to psi-likes (I thought feats were the exception to transparency?).

They would be, but as he mentioned it is an Sp ability.

Huh, interesting use of RAW there...
