Hi all, I am going to be joining a level 3 game soon with one other party member(Gnome Ninja) who has never played before. Myself and the DM are responsible for her character creation and I think we did quite a nice job but I need help making a cleric that can cover bases. 3.5 material is on the table but it will need DM approval. Goal is a melee/buffing cleric.

Anything on the PFSRD is fair game thus I am a Half Giant(+2 Str, Wis -2 Dex)

Stats Array-15,14,13,12,10,8 and a free +1 to any one stat

Str-14(12)
Dex-11(13)
Con-10
Int-8
Wis-18(15)
Cha-14

1. She will be using the Wild Cohort feat from 3.5 because she really wants a pet. I think it helps make up for the lack of party. Thoughts on myself taking it for two pets?

2. Thoughts on domains, gods, feats and the like. Once again 3.5 is on the table(everything except ToM, Incarnum)

Thanks for reading

If you want to be more "pure" with Pathfinder, the animal domain grants you an animal companion. Of course, you could do both and have animals in every nook and cranny.

Additionally, look at the feat "Glorious Heat" and the orison "spark". It's free infinite healing.

How do you want to play your character, exactly? Melee, summoning, blasting?

I found this (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h6-_4HvPvV-Tt7I67Gi_oPhgHmeDVA5SBl-WrJSgf5s/edit?hl=en&pli=1) pretty helpful. For 3.5 material try this (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=420.0) one.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hadn't seen the PF Cleric guide before.

Make sure you look at sub-domains; a lot of them give more interesting/useful powers than the regular domain.

They errata'ed Glorious Heat.

Since we only publish errata when we reprint a book, a forum clarification will have to suffice on this issue.

Were we to reprint the book, we would change the Glorious Heat feat to grant the fire spell's spell level in healing instead of character level. This keeps unlimited use orisons from being spammed, and 1st level spells from being abused at higher levels.

This clarification will appear in the July update to the Pathfinder Society Additional Resources document

Paizo's errata procedure makes my head explode. I wish there were a better way to find this stuff than constantly trawling through forums.

Glorious Heat at least sounds interesting. What book was that in?
