Alright. So, for reasons I really have no idea about, Flash stopped working on my computer a few days ago. And, you know, Flash being that "Oh hey, this is cool, let's make half of everything with it!" program, it's just a tad annoying. In fact, Flash Player seems to have completely vanished, not showing up on any search of my computer I make, and all attempts to reinstall the program have thus far failed. Anyone have any clue what I could do here?

If I remember rightly, Chrome for Windows has an internal flash player, so that might work.

Otherwise can't you try getting a new version from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ ?

Also there is a complete uninstalling guide here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Which could be of help if you have to clear up a failed install / update.

Tried that, and for some reason, it didn't work. I'm not terribly fond of trying to get a new browser. I mean, now I'm going to get the whole speech about how impossibly horrible IE is and so on, but I don't really care. It works, that's all that really matters to me.

I mean like, shot in the dark here, tried any malware scans? I doubt it's the case, though. If those turn out clean, any chance at using System Restore to go back a week or so to where Flash was working?

I was thinking of doing a scan, will probably try that next weekend. As for system restore, guess who never actually MADE any backup points. So system restore=factory default, and I'm not doing that.

I know you don't want to change browsers, but trying it out with Chrome (for 15 seconds) might enable you to figure out if it's a Internet Explorer setting that got switched, disallowing flash or something else.

Otherwise, if the uninstall tool from adobe didn't work I'm stumped. Maybe it's something to do with user rights?

I started experiencing problems after new Mozilla update for Firefox. Now the browser window hangs and I have to press the buttons several times then again it hangs and only then after a while shows the content, but sometimes I see the message that I don't have proper flash player, but I'му downloaded and installed it! what's the problem with my Firefox?

And lo, Google Chrome has fixed the problem. Thanks, guys.

Dear CMage, can you clarify? Are you saying you are using Chrome and flash works? Or did you install Chrome, go back to IE and IE is working now?
Thanks.

I've switched to Chrome. Flash works on it.
