Not sure if there are enough of us quite yet to justify a meetup, let's use this thread to gauge the interest, if any, of our own meetup.

If not, we can just continue crashing the Dutch and UK meetups ! ;)

'sup.

Grimbold made a similar thread a while back, there wasn't much response.

If you had one part-way through next year I'd try to make it...

I'm right next door and go up to Paris on the TGV every other week end, so I'd be happy to join if it was close to the capital. The rest of France (and there's a lot of it, too) is a bit less reachable.

If we did have enough interest, Paris or Lyon I think would be best for most, for sure

Oh thank god I found this thread. Are there Playgrounders living in Paris/area or people who get to Paris regularly that would be interested in meeting a lonely, geeky exchange student?

I'm sure grimbold would. I'll mention it to him.

EDIT: How long are you in France for?

I'm in Paris for another 3 weeks and then Nice for 6.

Ah, darn. I was hoping you'd be here for long enough to go to the UKitP meetup. Still, hopefully something in Paris can be arranged. Grim's at school atm afaik, but he'll be back in a bit.

Thank you thank you thank. This means a huge amount to me.

Are you in the UK, then?

Formerly, but I'm now in Strasbourg.

I was going to meet up with grim a month ago, but train prices mooted that. Perhaps I would be able to wrangle more money towards my cause if I were meeting more people.

Hmm, I might be able to work on some others to come, perhaps Americans currently in Europe.

I think I recognize you from Mumble. Am I imagining that?

Yes.

I was formally Crown of Thorns, I'm on the ChHa server a fair amount.

You were going to trade me a christmas key for a powerjack once.

Pity about the timing though, UKitP has Serp as a special guest this year.

Aha! I knew you seemed familiar. If you want a Christmas Key, I'm sure I still have it.

Giantitp chat?

There are two GitP affiliated groups that I know of on facebook, Giantitp Chat and Playgrounders on Facebook.

The first one is being used for chatting, surprisingly. Request to join and one of the hordes of admins will have you added in no time at all.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Also, if the key is still on offer, I'd be happy to take it. Hit me up on steam.

If you'd agree to speak some English (snobbish French that you all are!) some Germans could come, too, if you like.

Maelstrom
2011-09-26, 05:20 AM
Heh, so far it seems the majority interested are either Americans/Brits living in France or Anglophones visiting France...so, I could almost guarantee English would be spoken ;)

This quasi-meetup should totally be on the w/c 22nd October. If it happens.

Hrrrng, things are up in the air and that may not work. I'll try, though.
