Same issue. Hopefully he's checking this thread and will fix it soon. He probably just made a mistake uploading the image.

If anyone is confused, the page links to the directory for the comics instead of the image itself. It won't matter what you're using to view it.

It appears that the img tag for this comic only refers to the images directory, and not the actual image file... ie, img src="/comics/images/", where normally it says img src="/comics/images/blahblahblahblahblah.gif".

It seems like quite a few people are experiencing this issue, however, and I'm hopeful it will be resolved by the time I finish typing this.

When I try to view the images info, it says the image is located at http://www.giantitp.com/comics/images/. Which is weird, because it should be http://www.giantitp.com/comics/images/something.jpg (or gif or whatever The Giant uses). I'm pretty sure the image was never actually uploaded to the server.

I'm fairly certain this is not the case. The problem is probably either that The Giant didn't upload the file properly, or he didn't link the page to the file properly. As far as I can tell, the comic pages use a script to grab the image from the server. But the link that page 806 has is to a directory, not an image. It tries to render it anyways, but because it basically found an empty file it shows the little error box.

I was scared to look at this thread. If the problem was with my computer, then I would be spoiled. But I decided to take that risk to make sure that the problem wasn't with my computer.

I do appreciate how quickly the comic almost came up. I really wasn't expecting a comic this soon, so I wasn't disappointed.

Meanwhile, we can always speculate on what's happening in this strip. We have 2 hints: "Holy Enunciation" and ":smalleek:". What can that mean ?

My take: Durkon tries to utter a Holy Word, but due to his accent no one understands it, so Sabine and Elan are unaffected by it.

Usually when this happens (webcomic artist forgetting to link image after uploading it) I copy the image location of the previous page and paste it in the address bar with the image number incremented by one. Sadly, OotS pages appear to have meaningless gibberish as their image name. :smallfrown:
