How can a specialized conjuration Wizard gain conjuration (healing) spells?

Thanks.

Extra spell (CArc) grants one additional spell of any level below your highest spell level and gives no restrictions as to list or type, indicating wizards in particular taking this to gain spells lacking access to and unable to research.

Arcane disciple (CDiv) will give you a set of domain spells, such as Healing, to prepare on your list once per day. Requires a high enough wisdom to cast the spell level.

Combine arcane disciple with spontaneous healing (CDiv) to spontaneously cast any cure spell you know a number of times per day equal to wisdom modifier. One issue may be "from your class spell list", but I would say arcane disciple adds those to your class spell list.

Recaster and Wyrm Wizard are both ways of hacking spells onto your spell list, though you're going to lose at least one caster level if you take either, and you won't get more than a spell or two out of them.

Rainbow Servant isn't quite as flashy on a Wizard as it is on a Warmage (gotta love the Rainbow Warsnake), but it's pretty unambiguous about what you get. I'm pretty sure the entire Cleric list (which you'll have to scribe into your book, granted, but that's not so hard) should have what you're after, no?

See, I was figuring Arcane Disciple too. As it turns out, though, I'm pretty tight on feats.

Is there a better way to make a competent Wizard healer?

Should I scrap taking the Superior Summons ceremonial feat to take Arcane Disciple?

What level are you, and how much wiggle room do you have in your build?

I would recommend taking arcane disciple for the healing domain, then take touch of healing (reserve feat from complete champion). Bearing in mind you may cast each domain spell only once, you now have the ability to heal anyone up to 1/2 their hp at-will (though it will take a while).

You can also get Combat Medic from Heroes of Battle that gets spontaneous heal (lose a spell of 6+ level in order to cast heal).

Requires Combat Casting, Arcane Disciple and Dodge. And probably something to get Heal as a class skill (or get Glimmerskin Halfling from Dragon Magic as a race - they always have heal as a class skill).

While not RAW, the official FAQ does clarify that the spell gained must be from your class list. It all depends whether the DM/game in question uses the FAQ ruling or not.

The build is for a Red Wizard/Master Specialist conjurer. I took Able Learner, cause the party I may be joining desperately needs a diplomancer and I rolled like a god, so I could spare a 14 in Cha.

I'm still working on the feats, but it's hard to squeeze in any. I need some metamagics for Red Wizard, plus spell focus (conjuration) for master specialist. Take Leadership for the Circle Magic and Metamagic School Focus to help with the sting of the Metamagic feats.

If you guys have any idea how I should plan out the feats, or what metamagic feats to take, I'd welcome the help.

I don't normally play Wizards.

Specifically..
Independent Research

A wizard also can research a spell independently, duplicating an existing spell or creating an entirely new one.

Kill your whole party. Have them all reroll WARFORGED. Roll around yelling WARFORGED at everyone you meet. Cast Repair Light Damage as needed. WARFORGED!

You can't get healing spells without any resources to invest. It would help if you posted what resources (class levels, feats, skills, gold, auxillary linked creatures such as cohorts or familiars) you have available to accomplish this goal.

Well... if you ignore the errata, Master Specialist's Expanded Spellbook lets you pick up Conjuration (Healing) spells...

('though you might not necessarily get to cast them.)

Being a wizard means that you have a few alternative ways to get healing for a party besides taking feats for them. How about spells?

- Enchantment spells can be used to charm somebody into becoming a temporary party healer
-Summoning spells can get you a healer as well. Try summoning one of the celestial-types with Planar Binding, maybe.
-This should go without saying, but if your party is taking a lot of dmg in fights, you can look for ways to prevent that damage, usually through buff spells. Every HP damage prevented is one you don't have to worry about healing, after all.

boccob's reading room in CMage is similar. similar effect, and similarly, it could be read that you don't actually get to cast them.

The Summon Monster line can get you a Leonal. They have Heal.

This is true, I can easily summon a healer at higher levels or planar bind one.

Also, my UMD is pretty good, so wands or scrolls could work if in combat healing is dire.

I guess I don't really need the spells themselves.

Thanks.
