First off, go away, my players! Shoo! SHoo!

Now, I am re-starting a low magic game this weekend, and the main shtick previously is that I use every damn wacky idea that just doesn't fit anywhere else.

The starting arc for this one will be Alien Brain Slugs out to take over the world (Puppeteers, from the SRD). The players will start arriving at a small village that is at leats mostly dominated by these guys, and I'm drawing a blank as to how these guys will interact with the PCs.

So...help?

tl;dr: Attack by the Alien Brain Slugs!

How about this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animorphs): Your characters are all Wildshape Variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm) Rangers.

The players enter the village to see a normal scene. Farmers tending the crops, blacksmiths pounding at iron, the usual affair. But as they try to talk to a person or even looking close enough they see something...uncanny. Nobody acknowledges the adventurers, they just seem to only work as ants in the ground serving an unseen queen.

Basic idea, pretty cliche I know.
