a long campaign is coming to an end, and i'd love to finish it by having a picture made, of the main characters, villains, and main NPCs. i'd like something impressive, serious, that would create a fond memory when looked on in the future.

so my question is twice fold:
1) i've never done anything like this before. where can i look up at artists' work? how do i contact them? how do i commission the work? any links or direction would be appreciated.

2) if anyone has an experience about doing something like this, i'd love to hear about it. any pointers, advice and the like.

thanks in advance,
Kol.

Simple. Deviantart is your friend.

How to Commission an Artist (http://news.deviantart.com/article/100114/)

It's a lot to read, but it's all in one place, and the reason it's so long is partially because it spells out a lot of the stuff that ought to be self-explanatory. But everything you need to know is pretty much there.

Here's another one (http://dwwrider.deviantart.com/art/DW-s-Guide-on-Art-Commissions-73547363) for good measure.

As for how to find artists, the quickest and easiest way is the Job Offers forum (http://forum.deviantart.com/jobs/offers/). Just post a thread detailing what you need and several dozen artists will be all over you. Pick and choose.

If you want quality, though, be prepared to pay. It's as simple as that. Since you want to commission a LOT of characters... well, do the math.
