Can the spells shadow evocation, shadow conjuration, and their greater versions immitate spells that have been modified by metamagic feats?

For example, can a wizard who has the maximize spell feat use shades to mimic a maximized force orb, since it's only a 7th level spell?

If this is how it works, then what happens if you apply a metamagic feat to a shadow spell? For example, can a high level wizard with the empower spell feat be able to cast an empowered shadow evocation to mimic an empowered scorching ray?

"Maximized orb of force" is not a spell. "Orb of force" is a spell. If you want metamagic on your Shadow Conjurations, then you do it the old fashioned way.

Flickerdart is correct. I suspect the only way to do it would be to cast a Maximized Shadow Evocation. Maximized Greater Shadow Conjuration, which would require Arcane Thesis and a 9th-level slot.

Not much bang for your buck.

EDIT: Orb of force is a conjuration spell. And I'm an idiot.
