And I mean in the sense of "free" as in "I get the feats for free due to getting them as bonus feats".

Are there any classes of PrCs that get a lot of bonus feats that could be metamagic feats?

Incantatrix gets a bonus metamagic feat at levels 1, 4, 7 and 10. With a high enough intelligence, a loremaster 1 dip can give you a generic bonus feat. Mage of the Arcane Order gives you a bonus metamagic feat at levels 2 and 9. That's all I got off the top of my head.

3.0 War Wizard grants two of them at levels 2 and 4.

Spellguard of Silverymoon grants two at levels 2 and 4.

1 level dip of Olin Gisir if you are an elf.

1 level dip of Heriophant

wu jen 1, human paragon 2, maybe a bloodline (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/bloodlines.htm) under "make your own bloodline" rules.

probably not what you want, though, since they lsoe caster levels.

only every five levels, though, and not at 1, so doesn't really count as "lots", does it?

Compared with the fighter's array of metamagic, it does. :smalltongue:

It gets as many as Incantatrix. They are just more spread out.

Eyup, Human Paragon is just what you're after. Sure, you lose a Caster lev - I mean, sure, it doesn't achieve it's full potential, but that +2 to your casting stat is SOOOOO TASTY....

Elric's guide might be useful for this. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207382)

Ultimate Magus (CMage) gives 1 at 5 and 1 at 9, and has a dual-Arcane/Arcane progression that allows you to spend slots from one side to add metamagic to the other. After the Incantatrix, I think it's my favorite metamagic PrC.
