Well to me it seems like an epic death for an epic character. Pretty much like how Miko died in that castle explosion. I see it as a fitting end for his role in this story, leaving nale and sabine to somehow escape with Z and come back for an epic final confrontation at the next gate. Doesn't anyone else share this point of view?

Lots of people share your point of view. Except, that's not really what you said in the opening post, and nobody has even discussed that point yet. Just that you used a ridiculous meme about chuck whoever that's both old news and didn't really start any sort of discussion, and could have been made in any existing thread on the subject.
