But I suppose it could have gotten worse. (http://captain-sweden.deviantart.com/art/Friendly-hug-263513710)

Don't feel bad. I made my avatar, and it's supposed to be OotS style.

May I suggest Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/)? It's free, not too hard to learn (especially if you follow this guide (http://www.trazoi.net/tutorials/inkscape/oots/)) and it tends to work much better for OotS-style than Paint (although there are people who make great avatars with Paint -- I'm not one of them, so I don't know their tricks).

I personally run with GIMP. It's free and can do about 80-90% of what Photoshop can do, though sometimes it requires some innovative improvisation to get the same effects...

...but hey, you're not paying 700 bucks for it!

It works very nicely for OOTS-style avatars. If you like, I can run you through a tutorial about making OOTS avatars. I figured myself out a process that works nicely and doesn't take too long.

If you're using Inkscape, I made some models for it.

 Thanks for the kind replies; sorry for not answering sooner.

I have both Inkscape and GIMP, but I am incompetent at using them. I re-call having difficulties using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator at high school and university (graphics course, unable to finish it). :smallfrown:

I'll try to read Trazoi's guide.

Any help is welcome, and if you want*, it will be credited in the comics.

@ shawnhcorey: Can I copy those models directly, please? I suppose it would be the computer equivalent to tracing, but it might save me time and headache. I am willing to credit you for your help. But having them as, er, models will obviously be of great help. I'm especially worried how my female characters will look.

* Just remember that the finished (?) series will be "adult content". Hopefully not porn, or possibly porn with plot/plot with porn, but if you don't want to be associated with that type of thing...
