My friend asked about the "called shot" rule in 3.5 were you can designate an area on an enemy's body or body part to cause negative effects for the enemy... I drew a blank. Can anyone tell me if this rule is real, or homebrewed, and where I can find it?

He might be talking about the on in Pathfinder.

Does not exist, it is entirely homebrew.

In Quintessence of the Fighter that rule existed but it's 3rd party.

Called Shots would be here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/variant-rules).

Cool, Although he is probably going to say it doesn't count because it's not 3.5, I'm still happy to see some actual rules on this matter. Thanks for the link!

I have not laughed that hard in months. Thank you.

page 27 of the DMG has rules on damage to specific areas. Not exactly what you're looking for, but close-ish.
