Ultimate Pirate Illusion Master (Help!)

So my friends and I are planning on doing a joke campaign which seems to be investing heavily in over sea adventures. We are gestalt-ing (YAY!) so I know that I would like to do Bard and Dread Pirate on one side however I'm still not sure about my other side... I was thinking about maybe going beguiler because I want to be casting a ton of illusion spells however I'm not sure if there are any other/better suggestions that would work well with bard and dread pirate... Keep in mind that I would like to be an illusion based caster to help supplement my combat skills... any help would be appreciated ☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜)

Beguiler is an excellent choice. Sorcerer and shugenja are good choices for spell selection as well and operate off charisma like bard does, but they're rough choices for the no-prc side of a gestalt build since they get no abilities other than spells.
