View Full Version : [PF] Stupid Witch question: Hex Inoculation?

Reading the text of the Misfortune hex:

Misfortune (Su): The witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A Will save negates this hex. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. This hex affects all rolls the target must make while it lasts. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Does this mean you could hit your allies with Misfortune first thing in the morning so that no other Witch could use it on them that day? :smallconfused:

Yes, but how often do you fight enemy witches?

Maybe not often, but think how glad you'll be that one time it pays off!

I am assuming it means from that particular witch, though the more . . . RAW inclined may be able to show otherwise.

This is a great way to encourage your DM to ambush you first thing in the morning, while the entire party is loaded down with your "helpful" hex. :smalltongue:

Actually, the onus is upon the person arguing against RAW to show why their view is the correct one. The hex itself already doesn't specify from that particular witch.

op is clever and should feel clever!

reminds me of the feat that gives you a bonus if you resist fear. get a ****ty fear spell from an ally and get all beefed up.
