Due to involvement of epic spellcasters, magic in my setting got crippled. With exception of one type of spells: fire spells. Also, all of a sudden, lots of sorcerers are being born, possessing only ability to cast fire spells.

Do you guys have any fine ideas how to show this in game mechanics? Can you recommend any fine spells? Is there a god of fire in DnD?

Two ideas:

1. Gestalt everyone with sorcerer, but they only get fire spells on the sorcerer side.

2. Let sorcerers have the fire bloodline from Pathfinder.

I'm not sure exactly what sort of game mechanic you're looking for. It sounds like you've already got something worked out for crippling non-fire spells (impeded magic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/planes.htm#impededMagic)? Limited magic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/planes.htm#limitedMagic)?), and a lot of sorcerers being born (no game mechanics necessary; just make more sorcerer NPCs).

It does occur to me that stone and other non-flammable building materials will become much more popular. But I don't know if that's what you're asking for.

Automatic Energy Substitution (Fire) (CArc) added to all sorcerers helps give a larger breadth of flame spells available. Alternatively you may wish to allow certain other spells to bypass the cripple effect with Spell Thematics (Fire) (PGtF)

I'll also give an obligatory plug to the Pyrokineticist (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/pyrokineticist.htm). If you don't want psionics to be in the game, it will need only minimal tinkering before you can use it.

Not that magic really needs help, but I know that YouLostMe is currently working on rewriting the Meteor Swarm Spell in this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219214) if you're interested.

Blistering Spell (PHII), Explosive Spell (CArc), Radiant Spell (DR 314), Flash Casting (DR 314) and Steam Magic (Stormwrack) are all flavorful metamagic feats.

Divine Sorcery (fire god) (DR 314) and Fire Bloodline feats (DR 311) can represent a more direct connection to fire than the magic which most sorcerers have.

Instead of pure elemental fire you may desire to designate that it derives directly from demons, devils or dragons - but that's a whole other kettle of fish.

There are spells that deal part fire/part other damage, like Flame Strike or deal other effects in addition to fire damage (orb of fire, fire substituted orb of acid) I'm not sure how you wish to deal with them.

Out of curiosity, are there any casters from before the disaster alive? Have you ironed out how other magic will be crippled or were you looking for help there too? It probably won't be coming from me until I've had a long sleep...

Yes. Many casters from before are alive, but with epic spellcasters polymorphing themself into gods, killing gods and a special epic spell named Truekill (surpasses ALL lichdom/clone/demiplanes with forbiddance/divine abilities and just corrodes soul and sentience of targeted creature. Was made by über God of death and ancient, re-awakened God of magic) which caused a large part of magic/mana to be just "fried". No spell, higher then lvl 5 may be cast now. Oddly enough, monsters know to bypass this, but only with limited SLAs at their disposal.(refrain from commenting/ranting about this)

All Sorcerer's are now attuned to fire magic. They start with energy sub fire spells and Eschew Materials for spells with the fire descriptor. Later the automatically gain Energy Admixture: Fire and Searing Spell as bonus feats.
