Hey, I know you guys can help me with this - I'm trying to remember an old D&D variant that basically turned the game into a TV game show, where you'd do a dungeon crawl and get points for killing monsters, finding stuff, etc. Any idea? I want to update this to 3.5 and run it as a one-shot. Has this been done?

EDIT: The question has been answered, it was revealed to be X-Crawl, a Goodman Games supplement series that was made for 3.5. Has anyone ever run this?

I think I know what you mean. I think it had "Crawl" in the title.

Short google search later:

And as far as I know, it was designed for 3.x in the first place.

Well, for a more literal version...

Well how about that! I always thought it was for AD&D. Problems solved, then. Also, re: Beelzebub - I know! I actually had that same thought trying to remember what it was called but couldn't actually remember, my brain kept inserting Smash TV and I was angry.

Also, Mark Hall - that sounds suspiciously like a fantasy version of Legends of the Hidden Temple (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legends_of_the_Hidden_Temple).

Also, to keep this in any semblance of on topic - has anyone ever RUN X-Crawl?

There's a regular game in my club locally - I'm not part of it, but every story I've heard out of the people I know in the group playing it have been amazing and hilarious.

While I've never run a game of X-Crawl, I have played in one. Here is a summary of one such session.
