I have an idea for a wizard with a golem servant (named Jarvis) & my idea was to crawl inside him & pilot him on occasion. I remember seeing somewhere rules for tricking out your constructs but I can't remember where. Can someone help me?

First up, Artificer, not Wizard. :smallamused:

Second... yeah, no clue about tricking out constructs :smallfrown:

So, good luck, hope someone else posts responses, cause i'm curious now too.

Wait, I though he was a Warforged Warlock/Human Artificer
Also, doesn't complete arcane have that kind of class?

I just assumed it was a bunch of magic items.

1.Afaik, there are no rules for having to make a construct conform to particular specifications, such as 'non-hollow'. Your DM needs to adjudicate on this for you.

2.You can simulate Iron Man better with an Artificer than with a Wizard. Artificers get access to all the wizard tricks, get them earlier, and cause they're primarily using wands for the tricks, the theme is far more 'battery' focused than a wizard would be.

1) Play Psion
2) Form your Astral Construct around you
3) Do everything IM can do
4) ???
5) Profit

IIRC... An issue of Kobold Quarterly had a spell where you step into an affected construct and command it from within. Don't have access to it right now, but its worth looking at if you do.

Touche, my friend, touche. Articifer it is.

@ Everyone else, thanks for your responses, if anyone can tell me the splat book though I'd be grateful.

Artificer = ECS
Warlock = CArc
Psion = XPH/SRD

Sorry, not the splat book for Articifer, but for tricking out constructs. Thank you though

I'd suggest taking a look at Effigies from Complete Arcane for your armor choices. Templates that don't increase HD can be added to these without increasing their total cost.

One option is to make an Effigy of a Winged, Lolth Touched or Legendary, Giant for flight and super strength for the armor and control it from a hollow space within. Use a Warforged Charger if your DM will allow it, normally they don't qualify to be made into an effigy as Living Constructs but since you're just animating the body for use as armor I could see it working. This will give you animated Adamantine armor, +2 NA on top of that.

Craft a couple of Arbalestors and have them hold onto rings bolted to the constructs shoulders to add Predator Shoulder Cannons. Craft a Expeditious Messenger for your remote surveillance platform. If you craft them with the Craft Construct feat, rather then the Craft homunculus ability I don't think you suffer the damage if they get destroyed. But you'll want to check with your DM.

Remember that Crafting Cost Reducers can be used to lower the cost of making constructs as well.

I can't help you with your specific golem vehicle request. But if homebrew is on the table and you just want to play as Iron man, you may wish to look at the Magictech Templar (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176276).

Just use Apparatus of the Crab (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#apparatusoftheCrab) as your baseline and go from there.

Is Pathfinder allowed (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/building-and-modifying-constructs)? Check under "Construct Armor" - it sounds like exactly what you need. Bit pricey, though.

YES! That was what I was looking for, I guess it was in Pathfinder, thank you very much

It kind of lacks a few of the more interesting upgrades. But that is really cool. Does wearing it as a armor still allow for spell casting while inside?

The construct counts as a breastplate in everyway

Try using a raggamoffyn from MM2 (the lowest-CR one, I forget the name).
