so, just as a little thought experiment before my next game starts...

The Pathfinder Rogue has access to a couple talents: Firearm Training (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/rogue/rogue-talents/paizo---rogue-talents/firearm-training-ex) and Grit (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/rogue/rogue-talents/paizo---rogue-talents/grit-ex). Grit allows access to these feats (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/grit-feats) as long as you qualify for them normally.

Here is a convenient Link (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/firearms) to Pathfinder Firearm Rules.

Now, assuming access only to early firearms, what kind of rogue character is possibly viable? I feel that a lot can be done with the fact that early firearm attacks are resolved as a touch attack, though not for purposes of feats such as Deadly Aim. A Rapid Reloading Scout Archetype could also be useful. The feat Opening Volley (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/opening-volley-combat) could also be useful...

I'm not sure! Anyway, if anyone is interested, please dazzle me with your Roguish firearm ideas/builds/whatever. I'm most intrigued to see what someone can do with this.

Cannot help much, but I'd just like to clarify that you can use Deadly Aim with the touch attack of the fire arm.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/deadly-aim-combat
(deadly aim)

The firearm rules say that at one range increments fire arm attacks are considered touch attacks, but these are not considered touch attacks (even though they are) for the purposes of such feats.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm pretty sure that's what I said...

So you did, but you can also read it as that attack rolls with fire arms must beat the full AC of the target rather than just the touch AC...

The wall you bounce off of is the new point of origin.
Shoot at people's feet, the ground they are on is new point of origin, means they are always within sneak attack range. If you had some easy way to get Clairvoyance you could shoot people behind walls, using line of effect / line of sight to great advantage.

i think sneak attack goes off range increments, so that would not work =(
