So ive got a player with an artificer that is focused on buildong his own stronghold, and one of the rooms he wants is a sort of golem museum...he also wants an item that grants him access to these golems while out adventuring without actually bringing them and he wants to do this with an item he can basically throw or drop that will function sort of like gate but pull through the golem of his choice...preferabbly this item would be reuseable 1/day or so.
What spells would be necessary to craft this item and how would we price out something like that( i know the rules for it are in dmg but im having trouble understanding them)

Off the top of my head I'd say have him arcane mark the golems and work out a way to alter Instant Summons to work with the golems...maybe 1k gp per 10 lbs to make a device that can zip them back and forth once a day/week or have him quest/dump resources into aquiring the "Gimme back my golem" spell-like ability? (Questing for something is my cookie-cutter answer when I ask myself "how much should this cost?")

Regardless of your result, show it to this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219878)thread. :smallamused:

If you give us a level and how much wealth he has to spend it could help. I'd use Instant Summons (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/instantSummons.htm)as suggested as a baseline. I'd also force it to be a Full-Round (but the Golem acts immidiatly after summoning) and it has an auto-return feature. That way he can't have his golem minion do the adventuring for him.
