Hey all,

Im playing in a party where we are going through the Against the Giants campaign and in our party we have a beguiler that uses suggestion/suggestion mass, however we came across the situation where the suggestion was for 4 giants to dig to a treasure that was buried 40 ft down, and so the giants started to dig.

The question now is that if we would be to attack the giants how would they respond?

The spell does not tell that it breaks, not even while something harmful is getting done to them.
It only states that u can only suggest something that is not harmfull for them at the time of casting.

So the question is what happens to suggested creatures when they are harmed?

cheers

This is up to the DM and is usually decided based on another will save attempt or by how much damage is hit

You're not controlling them, you just told them that they want a buried treasure. So getting that treasure occupies their time... unless you attack them. It's reasonable that some or all of them would defend themselves until the party goes away, then go right back to digging for that treasure.

Digging for treasure is reasonable. Digging for treasure while ignoring people who are actively attacking them is not. If you attack, they will defend themselves as normal. They may go back to digging for treasure afterward, but during the attack they will fight back.
