what book was it updated in, and what are the best spells to put on any undead you may have? making a necro specced wizard for a play by post campaign my old dm is about to run, and so far the group is a human dread necro, a raptoran cleric, a shifter scout, and a dwarven barbarian.

Complete Arcane. I'd throw on Minor Creation, Major Creation, Awaken Undead, Animate Dead, and Animate Dread Warrior.

Sp abilities are great in that they cost nothing (great for spells that cost exp or gp) and never take more than a Standard Action (great for long casting time spells).
