Simple question: Which classes outside of core have the best support outside their book?

A few early stuff got the odd multiclass feat or ACF, though nothing extensive.

Psionics and Warlock would be my first two anwsers, but is there anything else with good support?

Psion and Psychic Warrior got the best support online.

If you want a facetious answer, Wu Jen can qualify for nearly everything the Wizard can :smalltongue:

I meant material for them explicitly, rather than stuff that works for a general "catagory" (arcane caster, skirmish damage ect.).

Psionics in general. 4 major books from the 3.0/3.5/PF transitions, any Eberron book, as well as the very unknown Dark Sun Campaign Setting 3.5 has some psionics (if even a mention of them), an entire online archive for The Mind's Eye, and some of the highest quality homebrew/dragon material.

I know about all that (beyond DS stuff), hence why I asked beyond them.

The problem with your question is that a ton of PrCs can be entered by more than one base class, so it's hard to find anything truly "explicit." Some entries are better than others of course, and some PrCs were designed with certain class entries in mind (note that these two are not always the same), but you can still finagle just about any combination you want, even if it comes near the end of a level 20 build.

The same is true of feats and powers. The only material truly exclusive to a specific class are ACFs and substitution levels (racial, planar etc.)

Things that explicitly call for class features (like invocations or powers, as mentioned in the first post) not on a core class could be a start.

Like I said 2 posts above: there is a noticble difference between things intended for a role (arcane caster) vs a class (warlock)

Except things that require invocations can also apply to Dragonfire Adepts, so those aren't exclusive to Warlocks either. Even things that require a specific invocation can be accessed by DFAs. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070613)

One of the few classes I can think of that has a specific entry is Blighter, which requires you to be an ex-druid. There is no other way to be an ex-druid than to start as a druid, but that is a core class so not what you were looking for.

The Shadow caster got a few things in ToB (namely a PRC to mix with Shadowhand swordsage). But that's not much. Off the top of my head, I think the OP got the big ones.

The later a class come out in the series's run the lest time/interest their was to support it. Most of the mundane, divine, and arcane classes could benefit from support for their fields, so there wasn't much point in tossing them any bones. More obscure classes that introduced new mechanics, like those from Incarnum, were, well, obscure so there was little point in providing material for something that the players were unlikely to have access to.

edit
Assassins get spells in the Spell Compendium

Dragon Magic threw support at most everything except Truenaming, Shadowcasting and Tome of Battle. Player's Handbook 2 did the same to a lesser extent.

But yeah, Psionics and Warlocks are the classes that saw the most help. Wujens got a couple feats in Complete Scoundrel, Shugenja got a little support in Complete Champion, Hexblades got new spells at almost the same rate as Assassins. Shadowcasters got a web enhancement for Cityscape, which had a lot of neat stuff in it besides. Spirit Shaman have the same access to new Druid Spells, an ACF in the Cityscape WE and a mention in Player's Guide to Eberron that they can, in fact, use any of the Druid Sect feats. Really, the only non-core classes that didn't get outside support of any kind were Samurai, Healer, Truenamer and Tome of Battle.

Not really. Shadowsun Ninja is a Monk PrC and Shadow Trickster only helps Illusions, not mysteries in general.

Binders and Incarnum get a little bit of support in magazines and online.

In order of support material:

Core classes (Spellcasters especially)
Psionics in general
Warlock
Wu-Jen
Binders (Cityscape web enhancement, online articles)

Everything else got an equal amount of treatment (except the Bo9S, which didn't even get a Web Enhancement beyond the Maneuver Cards).

Thought of another PrC with specific entry - Master Specialist.

Binder got all the support it could ever need (not that it needs any) with its custom vestige creation guidelines. Not to mention an epic progression that doesn't suck. (Curse you for deleting it, WotC.)

Should have made a PDF while you had the chance, I know I did, though I wish I'd got the pictures, too, as I really wanted to have a picture of the Cephalopocalypse for posterity. :smallannoyed:

Shortly after the... chocolate hit the fan, I got the entire 3.5 online archive over at BG in case they start deleting more.

(NEVER FORGET)

I would hope so, given that's where Artificer came from. :smalltongue:
