I've always believed that every crazy theory that forms on these forums will always have a minimum of two supporters. But that's just my theory...

I support this theory. It makes alot of sense. But then... is THIS a crazy theory???

I can see Elan sounding like Phillip. But only sometimes. When it gets serious, I cant imagine him sounding like anything that. I cant imagine Nale/Tarquin sounding like him at all though, ever.

Elan: Maybe, maybe not.

Tarquin: Probably yes.

I think Tarquin of more like a higher James Earl Jones, but Elan a lower Phillip. I can totally see where your getting this, although the speed at which Phillip talks doesn't really match Elans slow witt.

When I'm reading something, all characters sound like me in my head.

Except Saruman in LOTR. He sounds like Christopher Lee.

That still sounds like Lee to me...which is scary.

When reading, I generally invent a voice for people depending on how they look and speak rather than basing on an existing actor, unless the character has been voiced before on TV or whatever.

Except for Lord Shojo, who for some reason sounds like Mako to me. :smallconfused:

I know I heard this name before but I can't for the life of me remember who it is or where he's from.

If I ever had to cast an OOTS film, I would raise him from the dead to voice Shojo. It'd be like Iroh from Avatar, but chaoticer.

I usually don't imagine any voices for the characters when I'm reading the comic, which is peculiar now that I think of it, since I generally have a fairly vivid imagination.

Regardless, however, a character would never sound like any character from "South Park", a series which I literally despise.

Despite the fine attempt, I can't hear Elan sounding like Philip (though I may substitute Nale just for fun in the future).

Elan: Cary Elwes

Tarquin: Christopher Guest

Considering that "despise" is just a verb, and not a figure of speech, that's pretty impressive. [/jerk]

Nope...all characters in OOTS actually have The Batman from The Dark Knight's voice modulation running. The all sound like they are chanelling their inner bears ;-)

When Tarquin speaks, in my mind, I hear Mr Ranger from Yogi Bear.

For me, its Tarquin for some reason more than elan, though elan is blonde like philip. It's just that as soon as Tarquin took off his helmet after the vader "I am your father" line, he looked so much like philip that the voice just instantly came up, and the (irony? dissonance?) of it was just too much and I laughed so hard I cried.

I know somebody else here had to see it too.

Sorry. Terrance and Phillip are the worst parts of South Park, IMO.

If by Inner Bear, you mean Gargling Marbles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seBpXt8_6xs)?

then yes.

Regardless of how comical Elan is, he still has an 18 cha and I imagine his voice somewhat theatrical and resembling his father's and brother's voice.

I always imagine the Elan family sounding British. For no reason other than British people are cool.

Goosefeather

I hear pretty much all the characters as having a rather generic southern British accent (except Durkon, obviously) - if only because, being British myself, so is the little voice in my head I hear when reading something

Ironically, Elan is sometimes the exception, as in his dafter moments I can't help but give him a kind of stereotypical air-headed 'valley-girl' accent, albeit a bit more masculine sounding. Tarquin is unequivocally RP though - he's charmingly suave and evil, how could he not be? :smalltongue:
