Fiery Skeleton
Afi ery skeleton burns with unquenchable fl ame. Variants of the
fi ery skeleton include the lightning skeleton (deals electricity
damage, immunity to electricity) and the frost skeleton (deals
cold damage, immunity to cold).
Attack: A fi ery skeleton’s natural attacks deal an additional
1d6 points of fi re damage.
Special Qualities: Fiery skeletons have immunity to fi re,
but do not have immunity to cold.
CR Adjustment: +1/2

This but it does negative energy damage with its attacks and has 10 resist positive energy. I was thinking this might be to much for some groups but in high op. wizard groups it would just even out the field just a little.

Could the fiery skeleton use wooden weapons such as bows?

It says natural weapons only so wooden weapons might get a little charred. But that would be thinking logically but sense when has D&D done that. :smallwink:

I'd bump up the CR to +1, since you're using a less-resisted energy type, and making it harder to use traditional anti-undead tactics.

If they are actually of fire, made of cold, would a grapple attempt also do damage to the opposed party?

*apologies for the double post*

yes natural attacks: claws, bites, slams, gores, grapples, charges, bullrush. I might have forgot one or two but got most of them.

Sounds good then. Maybe give them elemental weaknesses.

Fire: Water
Ice: Fire
Electricity: ... um... earth?

why would i weaken a already minor upgrade to a creature that is not that strong to begin with? Not counting the dragon skeletons and such from the Draconomicon.

To encourage players to think creatively in how they defeat the creatures.
