So today I was thinking... everyone elses footware is kind of defined

Belkar goes shoeless (as any true god of war should)
Haley, Elan and Roy all wear boots (though Elan only wears them post art upgrade)

What do you guys think Durkon and V sport as footware?

WWTD drinking slippers for Durkon is my bet!

:o)

Well Durkon wears heavy armor and is a cleric, maybe "boots" like Thor.

V is a wizard elf in robes, maybe something light like sandals.

No, I don't think they have feet. See for yourself: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0764.html

Just like Malack!

Seriously, though, what's up with the sudden interest in people's feet? ... Wait! Don't answer!

Perhaps he is jokingly implying the presence of foot fetishism.

We know that V is NOT wearing boots because Elan has already laid claim to the "elveniest boots ever" and surely any boot-like footwear on V would deserve such a title.

Durkon obviously has greaves with magical springs that only activate when he's near giants.

Dwarves get a +4 dodge bonus to AC against giant type monsters. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/races.htm#dwarves) Ogres are giant type. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/ogre.htm)

 Sure you are, but I think Kish wasn't perplexed with your lack of knowledge, the Ťogres were that species of things that weren't ogresť also got me confused.

What's "ogres were that species of things that weren't ogres" mean? Is it a koan?

Edited in response to your edit: That makes a lot more sense.

If it's big and humanoid-shaped, it's probably giant-kin. The Forgotten Realms has a creation myth which amounts to, "This pair of married gods produced all the races of true giants, and the wife also had sex with other gods, who fathered races of almost-but-not-quite giants: ogres, trolls, ettins (plus others most non-D&D players have never heard of, like verbeeg)."

I see I started some random chaos in this thread :smalltongue:
But yes, portal spring boots that only turn on when near giant subtype monsters is exactly what I was going for.

From the crotch high view of a dwarf, every thing is classed as a "giant-type".

Quackenbush

So for giants, are all non-giants classified as dwarves? :smalltongue:
