Question about Rings of Force Armor

I've read the entry in the Magic Item Compendium several times, but the answer is eluding me; do Rings of Force Armor take up both ring slots or just one?

I think they were intended to take up both slots.

I figure this is correct, since there's no reason to make you wear two rings unless this is the intended result. They could have easily had the effects from the rings come from a single ring if it was only supposed to take up one slot. But it specifically specifies that you have to wear two, so that's the only reason I can think of for that.

Well there is a two-ring setup that occupies one slot somewhere out there, so not necessarily.

However, this particular item indeed occupies both slots.
