So Human is the race usually deemed as the poster boy of versatility. However...that doesn't convince me too much. So here's some real versatility :D.
ALLAGI

"The Allagi do not run away from their oppressors, from their hunters, from their inquisitors, from the forces, both good and evil, that may pose a threat. For whatever peril is to befall upon us, we will find a way to live through it, and adapt to the situation."
- Husaad Marik, Allagi spokesperson
Type: Medium Humanoid
Ages:
{table]Adulthood | Simple | Moderate | Complex
15 | +1d4 | +1d4 | +1d4
{table]Middle Age | Old | Venerable | Maximum Age
42 | 60 | 85 | +3d6
Due to their adaptability, Allagi need about the same amount of time to learn any class, regardless of complexity.
Height/Weight: Allagi span the entire Medium height scale, both 4'5" and 7'5" being rather common. They weigh as much as a Human of the same size.
Languages: Common, Allagean
Bonus Languages: Any non-secret
Speed: 30 ft base land speed, 20 feet either climb or swim speed (chosen at character creation)
One time, a group of changelings living as outlaws in the underground of a sprawling empire ruled by an evil sorcerer decided that, if they want their freedom back, they will have to earn it by giving up their disguises and challenging the emperor directly. Of course, this didn't end well.
Half of the changelings were slaughtered, the others, the sorcerer cursed, making them unable to shapechange at all and age at a much faster rate. Then, they were exiled from the empire.
Old, debilitated and weak, the changelings could do nothing but pray to the Traveler to have mercy of them. Luckily, a high level cleric heard their cries and lifted the aging curse off them. He couldn't do anything about the lost shapechanging, however.
This did not discourage the exiles. Without their superatural powers, they tried to channel versatility from within their own bodies, minds and resolve. And what they discovered was amazing. Then, they declared themselves a new race, the Allagi, and went on to thrive on the outskirts of the evil empire, using their newfound natural adaptability to defeat the imperial army time and time again, until in the end they conquered it all.
Names: An Allagi bears his family name and the name of his father until the age of 15, then, he gets to choose his own name.
Appearance: Apart from the great height variety, Allagi are indistinguishable in appearance from changelings in their true form.
Racial Features:
+2 stat X, -2 stat Y
Stats X and Y are chosen at character creation by the player, and can be chosen as the same stat (basically not giving any bonuses or penalties).
Adaptation of Mind and Body: An Allagi may change his racial bonuses to stats once per month.
Natural Linguist: Add Speak Language to your list of class skills for any class you adopt.
Revamped Learning: Three times during his life, an Allagi may choose to unlearn one of his feats and learn another feat that he meets the prerequisites for. Both the unlearned feat and the learned feat must be [General] feats.
Multi-Faceted Personality: An Allagi may pick 3 character traits at character creation instead of 2.
Loose Movement (Ex): An Allagi treats the maximum dex bonus of an armor as being 1 point higher, and the arcane spell failure of armor as 5% lower.
Unusual Methods (Ex): X times per day (where X is the sum of all mental modifiers of an Allagi, minimum 1), an Allagi may choose to make a skill check using any stat modifier he wants instead of the normal one.
Religion: As most changelings, the Allagi quite naturally praise the Traveler.
Favored Class: Allagi receive no XP penalty for multiclassing.
Level Adjustment: +0
