The sounds of battle echoed across the mountainside. The contingent of giants that Urok's squad of men had been battling had withdrawn behind icy fortifications. Occasionally a large frozen boulder would careen through the air before either smashing into the ground with a heavy thump or occasionally colliding with one of the mammoth riding barbarians. As Urok turned Shevanka around to examine the battlefield around him, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A figure too small to be a normal giant stood on an outcrop of ice behind which lay a cave. Urok might have missed the man through the increasingly heavy snow were it not for the brilliant light which shone from between the mans outstretched arms. It looked like he was holding something but the light grew too bright to even make out its shape. Suddenly a flash of light spread across the sky and the increasingly violent storm abruptly stopped. The sounds of battle died down for a few moments as men looked up and the now clear sky with apprehension as the giants suddenly retreated up the mountainside. A chorus of cheers rang out as Urok's men celebrated their victory.
Urok's squad gathered behind him and he turned to address them. As he opened his mouth to speak, a deep rumbling began to emanate from the very mountain itself. The sound lay somewhere between that of an avalanche and an earthquake, but the mountain neither shook nor unleashed a wave of snow upon them. The sound grew in volume until the very air itself seemed to vibrate with it. The several of the mammoths were spooked and the men struggled to retain control of them. The gap between Urok and his men grew as their mounts fought the urge to bolt.
A bolt of lightning suddenly flashed from the now clear sky to strike The Titan's tip. Electricity coursed through Urok's body as the muscles in his arm spasmed and refused to release his grip upon his trophy lance. A crack echoed from the ground as a large chasm abruptly opened up beneath Shevanka's feet. Unable to move as his muscles continued to refuse to obey him, Urok could only watch helplessly as the ground seemed to swallow him in darkness.
Urok awoke on the ground, his body stiff and weak. Both Shevanka and The Titan lay beside him. Shevanka stood slowly, and nudged Urok gently with her trunk. The only illumination came from the two torches embedded in Shevanka's tusks. The cold stone ground slopes steeply upward, with jagged breaks and sharp fragments of stone. A single passageway lies just ahead. From beyond Urok can make out the faint sounds of movement.
