I am going for a melee Inquisitor. I started a gnoll and took a feat that gave me a claw attack.

Using this pdf even though its a 4E with the DM's permission. I used the argument that hobgoblins get the same stat adjustments. I feel particularly uncomfortable using 4E material at all.

I'm using a longspear to threaten 10 feet out and clawing anything that gets under the reach of the longspear. So far that's gotten me to level two.

I can take an attack of opportunity if something charges me without using a reach weapon of its own right?

What I need advice on is what melee feats to mess with. I see three major options.
#1 Weapon Focus(claws) -> Dazzling Display -> Gory Finish -> Shatter Defenses
I have an good intimidate skill and it synergizes with stern gaze. However it feels mostly like a crowd control solution. And there are a lot of things that don't feel fear.

#2 Power Attack -> Shock trooper ('Backwards Compatible') -> ???
I'm not really feeling this but it seems to be the route to the most damage output in melee.

#3 Two Weapon Fighting
Which synergizes with Judgement Destruction and Justice.

Any suggestions on how to build over the next couple levels?
