I made an earlier thread talking about doing a two-party 3.5e crossover session in a couple of weeks. This is about that same session. The other DM gave us this credit card after we did some quick roleplaying with this tyrant character. We need to make sure we are properly equipped to handle his players (by which I mean test/steal everything from them).

I need some tips on equipment to buy, given the equivalent to a credit card with no spending limit other than DM discretion. To help, here are the current party members, and here are the other party members, and some of the equipment we already have

Our Party(levels 4-5)
Half-Orc Fighter - Maybe some Master Work Adamantium Full-Plate and weapons?
Human Ninja - MW Composite (+3 Str) Short-bow, and maybe Goggles of the Night, and poison
Kobold Shugenja -
Halfling Beguiler - *not yet fully created*
Elf Ranger(2)+Spirit Shaman(2+) - Some arrows of slaying

Their Party (levels 3-4)
Dwarven Fighter - d20 claymore & 1/day rage ability
* Pixie Beguiler - Cockatrice Familiar
Gnome Wizard (evocation specialist) - Pseudo-dragon familiar
Druid -
Healer -
* Half-Giant Monk -
*No level adjustment

Other equipment we have:
Cape of meta magic, potions of cure moderate, immovable rod, dither bombs, and I intend to pick up a bunch of poison(drow, oil of taggit, and one black lotus for the cockatrice [all approved by the other dm])

The amount of equipment out there is so large I was getting a little overwhelmed trying to sort through all of it at once. Help plox.

item 1-5: neckalace of adaptation x5

item 6-15: dust of sneezing and coughing (choking and coughing?) x10

On a more serious note, there are any number of things I'd suggest.

I'm a bit confused on the no limit thing, but hey, if thats how he wants to play then game on.

BoED has a cloak called starmantle cloak or some ish, that makes you take half dmg from melee atks if you make a dc 15 ref save. also, if its not a magic weapon hitting you then the weapon is automatically destroyed and you take no dmg.

Theres also a thing called retributive amulet or some ish that once again halfs dmg to you, but the half you dont take, is sent back to the atker, so if he hits you for 20, you take 10 (or 5 if you have both items) and he takes 10.

There's an item called an enveloping pit in the MIC that lets you set it on the ground and use a command word to open it, turning it into a 10x10x50 portable hole that they'll fall into. then you command word again and wait for them to suffocate. and its only 3600 gold, so he shouldnt even say its too expensive!

There's an item called aboleth mucus floating around somewhere savage species maybe? Im sure google could tell you, that costs like 20 gold per use or something that when you hit someone with it as a ranged touch atk, they lose the ability to breath air if they fail a dc 19(ish) fort. theres another instant kill for you.

Eggshell grenades are beast mode. they're cheap and mundane, and have a range incriment of 10 feet, but for -6 you can still hit a touch ac to blind (no save) someone for a d4 rounds. Thats in Oriental Adventures If I recall correctly.

chaos flasks are another good investment. I think they come from the manual of the planes or dieties and demigods. its a DC 15 will (maybe wisdom) check to turn it into any mundane item for like an hour or something. Long enough for you to turn it into one of the DC 54 fort save poisons that does like 3d6 con.

I know I joked at the beginning, but if you can lay your hands on a neck of adaptation and even one dust of sneexing and coughing that should be enough for you to win the combat if everyone in your party has bows. Give your highest dmg dealer the neck and dust, have him go in, everyone is stunned (read that sneak atkable) for 5d4 rounds, and then everyone just start blowing **** up.

you can fill a backpack full of Firestones you can throw it for like 1d6 dmg per firestone in a 3x3 square no save. theyre in the dragon compendium.

either a wand of grease, or marbles. both require a DC 15ish ref save or they fall. deuces fighter in fullplate.

Get your ranger a collision splitting bow, or a force splitting bow. depending on if you think their wiz will cast windwall.

Is that D20 Claymore you mentioned a homebrew item? Or can it be found in a sourcebook?

It's homebrew. He was talking about it in an earlier thread.

The First sounds a little OP, but the second sounds hillarious

Theres also a thing called retributive amulet Probably a little OP, and he won't allow it

There's an item called aboleth mucus√ Aboleth Oil, Arms&Equipment Guide. Contact poison that turns you into an aboleth.

Eggshell grenades√ I'll grab em, being a ninja and all

chaos flasks are another good investment. .Probably won't allow it off hand once we say the source because he has different gods.

Get your ranger a collision splitting bow, or a force splitting bow. depending on if you think their wiz will cast windwall.Collision involves psionics, so probably force. I doubt the wizard will have windwall, he seems to be focusing on electrical attacks.

The Splitting Bow should work, but i don't have the source yet. Champions of Ruin, Right?

BoED is Book of Exalted Deeds.

MIC is Magic Item Compendium.

You don't turn into an aboleth. Fortutide save DC 19 or you can no longer breath air for 3 hours... essentially "save or die... three minutes later".

Chaos Flasks don't involve deities, they contain the raw material of Limbo. If your DM has the plane of Limbo, then technically he's got Chaos Flasks. Wisdom check DC 13 as a free action, can turn the chaos-stuff into any non-magical object or creature of a similar size/density. Only lasts 1 round per point of Wisdom, though. Useful for creating any type of poison for only 100 GP. Megapede poison (MM3/Dungeonscape) has the highest save DC in print: 44.

You'll want to talk to Shax (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148101).

A transformed creature must remain moistened
with cool, fresh water or take 1d12 points of
damage every 10 minutes. See the Aboleth entry in
the Monster Manual for more information about the
transformation."

Apparently there are two of them. Personally, I think the second on is funnier, but the first one is more effective.

"Aboleth Oil: Transformation takes 1d4+1 minutes.

Huh. Missed that... I was referring to Aboleth Mucus, from Savage Species (much cheaper... 20 GP per dose, and it's not a poison.) But yeah, a Chaos Flask could do that, too.
