Why don't you make the thread "Favorite PlayStation games" instead? It's not really sony making the games.

For PS1 I only have
Metal Gear Solid, which is awsome!

PS2:
Shadow of the Colossus, which is super-awsome
Metal Gear Solid 3
Primal, which is way more obscure than it should be.
Okami
God of War 2

PS3:
Mirrors's Edge, which is super-special-awsome
Metal Gear Solid 4
Mass Effect 2
Valyria Chronicles
Bad Company

GoW
SotC
GH

And yes, I am only using abbreviation because it's the hip new thing from like 10 years ago. Try and guess them all (the first two should be pretty obvious).

I'll say this much, it has one of the "greatest" ending credits song for any video game ever. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAga2AjfZlg)

Two maybe. It's weird and you need it for continuity. But it does have it's charms.
Three definitely! I love one and four has great quality, but three still is clearly the best!

I remember playing Primal - had the voice of G'Kar from Babylon 5 in it.

The game itself reminded me of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on the PSOne. The problem was that it seemed glacially slow in places and while the plot is nicely vague about the nature of the world the heroine is in, the game mechanics needed a little work I felt. I'd have been interested in a Primal 2 but only if the gameplay had been spiced up a notch.

The Legacy of Kain games....possibly the greatest series ever to grace a console platform.

Blood Omen was a 2D down adventuring bloodbath and has a place in my heart for all time. There were still niggles with it, especially obscure switch placement in some of the dungeons and the final boss was as hard as nails but still an invaluable addition.

Soul Reaver was the first game that clued me in to the series, although oddly enough I became acquainted with it on the Dreamcast first, when Blockbuster Video still did console hire. The sheer vastness of the world, the way zones smoothly transitioned, the little nooks and crannies containing spells, human cities and various other delcious bits. This is the game Tomb Raider wishes it had been.

Subsequent titles in the series were a very mixed bag. Soul Reaver 2 had some good storylines but very dull gameplay while Blood Omen 2 was more back to Soul Reaver 1s roots, with better gameplay but had a plot that didn't really fit in with the main series, leaving me a little confused.

Defiance, the most recent episode (although according to rumour, NOT the last) combined the two dev teams back together to continue the plot line from Soul Reaver 2 and improved on the gameplay, with a better selection of abilities to choose from and the option to play Kain and Raziel in the same game.

Ehh, it's more or less Resident Evil 3 chronologically, hence why I called it that, but yes the Proper title is RE: Code Veronica X. I've always referred to it as RE3 though.

edit: Since, ya know, RE3:Nemesis, the first 2/3rds of the game takes place BEFORE the events of the RE2, and then the last 1/3rd takes place afterwards. It's the reason why I don't really consider it to be the real 3rd in the series, despite having the 3 in it's name, and why I labelled Code Veronica as the third(since it's events are ALL after the 2nd, and advance the storyline substantially, as compared to the small amount Nemesis does).

To further clarify, I guess I've always considered Nemesis to be a "Sidequel", since it explores events prior, during, and slightly after the previous game, but from a different angle/perspective. Doesn't "advance" the storyline really, so much as it clarifies and further expounds upon what you already know.

Katamari
Persona 3 (never played 4, but wouldn't be surprised if it found its way on this list eventually)
DMC3 (It's like an 80's B-horror movie made awesome)
Tony Hawk's before 4 rolled in
Guitar Hero 2
Rock Band 1 and 2
GTA 3
GTA Vice City
GTA San Andreas (the best of the series to date)

Honorary mention:
Other Atlas games (DDS and Nocturne in particular would be on this list, but as much as I respect them, their aesthetics just bother me a little too much sometimes. Great games, but preferences are preferences.)
