You probably have an Ad-Stop add-on to your browser (likely Firefox). I rarely see ads when I use FF, which is why I now use Explorer to visit this site.

The Giant is putting them on in order to potentially pay for a better server. Yes, they might be annoying at times, but if they make the forum better, I see no problems with them.

I personally don't find the ads that bad. They don't have sound, don't expand and black out the rest of the screen, they don't open up a new window... Heck, I forget they are there at times, literally just found out that there was an ad at the bottom as well as the top. What's to be annoyed about? Some of the ads have led me to interesting webcomics, but it's rare that I actually click or give them mind. Not like they're breaking your kneecaps or something... I certainly hope not at least.

Personally I hope the giant keeps the ads even if he doesn't move ot a new server. He deserves the money and they are usually fun links.
