I'm building a level 6 Paladin of St. Cuthbert themed to be like the Ghost Rider. Any suggestions for this? I'm using Sam Elliot's character in the movie as my example since he was on horseback and I've currently got him using a lance. I thought Paladin would be best since the Ghost Rider is all about the mount, but I'm not sure how to get something akin to hellfire as a LG character that's all about vengeance against evil.

What about spellfire? (FR) Or even getting some magic item or class that can do a blast kind of thing? Re-race to Dragonborn, and reflavor a breathweapon, or multi to Dragonfire adept?

Level 6 makes it tough. I was thinking a re-fluffed Regalia of the Phoenix, but that's way out of your price range.

Are you looking for the powers or the appearance as a priority?

A Paladin -> Bone Knight might work great for this. The bone knight is one of the extremely few prestige classes that was created for Paladins to enter and retain most of their abilities while completely changing their focus.

If you're a paladin or ex-paladin entering the class, you keep all of your abilities and spellcasting progression except for detect evil, smite evil, and remove disease. You can use Lay on Hands to heal living or undead creatures and you lose the service of your Special Mount, but gain the assistance of a Skeletal Steed.

~

The character doesn't necessarily become an evil ******* like a Blackguard, but gains a bunch of abilities from being corrupted by being so close to undead.

The coolest part is the ability to control undead better and the knowledge of bonecraft materials. The Bone Knight creates his own armor out of bones and improves it every so many levels. Eventually he learns how to make bonecraft weapons and incorporates his bonecraft armor directly into his skin gaining a bunch of the immunities that undead have.

The class is similar to Ghost Rider in that they gain abilities that make them more powerful while corrupting their bodies and magic. However, the corruption has absolutely nothing to do with their minds or souls. They're still the same person on the inside.

Ghost Rider!

Lumi (mm3)

Apply bone creature template (BoVD)

take levels in kensai and make your head +1 Flaming.

EWP spiked chain

Wear black leather and look mean.
There are actually many options there.

Hmm... along those lines, a changling, binder... Knight of the sacred seal.
Along with a decent indimidate score, dreadful wrath and imperious command but that might not be for a few levels.
Another interesting one might be:
Focused Specialist Wizard5/Knight Phantom1:
One of the Feats will be Occular Spell, and I think you might learn Combust from the spell compendium... but you can put two spells in your eyes and fire them at once. Penance stare.

Hellbred is the race you want.

Exemptions while using Evil to fight Good is nice.

Powers more than appearance. Specifically the change form, hellish steed, and penance stare.

Well, I think I'm going to skip the bone knight, just because I don't want him to be so necro. I'm leaning towards something that mimics GR as close as DND allows. I was hoping for a human that could change shape into a skeleton, flaming head being just appearance, not mechanic, and use a whole bunch of "I'm turning your evil back at you" kinda stuff. I like that occular spell thing. I didn't know about that. My mount is one of the big obstacles because I want a fiendish mount as a paladin, basically. If there was some way for me and my mount to be normal and then have a fiendish form that we could shift into in combat, that'd be perfect.
Thanks for the help, guys.

Look into the Hellreaver prestige class from Fiendish Codex II.
