With a standard wizard entry, what are the best two spells to take with Recaster? Assume that they can be of any level.

For those who do not know, Recaster is a Prc from Races of Eberron that gives arcane spellcasters the ability to add two spells to their spells known from any spell list.

I suppose it depends on what style of changeling wizard you're going for.

More info please? school specialization, usual playstyle, etc?

Miracle and True Resurrection. Miracle can simulate every other spell of any class up to 7th level (and any Cleric spells up to 8th level) without any XP cost. True Resurrection is useful in case the party Cleric goes down (or you don't have a Cleric in the first place) and you don't want a fallen party member to lose a level.

Favor of the martyr, arcane spellsurge? True res is probably inferior to revivify in most cases.

Don't wizards already have access to Arcane Spellsurge?

I agree with Miracle. Otherwise... Consumptive Field? The appropriate Holy Word spell for your alignment?

Isn't there some lower-level spell that does similar to Miracle as far as being able to imitate other spells? Anyspell, or something like that?

That might be a good choice for the same reason Miracle is, except fitting in a slot that has less options than a 9th level spell. Time Stop would be competing with Miracle for your 9ths, for example. 5th level slots are more plentiful.

any reason not to use last breath? it's cheaper, and a level lower, and allows you to become immortal with contingency.

requires a domain slot, so no.

(well, there's limited wish, but that's not what you're thinking of :P)

Consumptive/Greater Consumptive is pretty stupid.

Focused Abyssal Specialist (using racial emulation) with Aligned Spellcaster, barring necromancy and evocation. I am going for something versatile.
