I'm a strong proponent of alignment restrictions, but since WotC did this for bards, it doesn't make any sense for this feat to not exist. So here, for anyone out there who wants to open up a serious can of divine butt-whoop.

Righteous Fury
You are able to combine your supernatural, divine gifts of attacking your enemies with your own inner fury and revel in the banishing of your infidels.

Prerequisites: Smite Good or Smite Evil class feature, Rage class feature
Benefit: Your connection with your deity has returned your ability to rage to you, despite your Lawful alignment (if you have one). You may take levels of barbarian again, despite your alignment, and may still return to paladin (you face no multiclassing restrictions for switching between paladin and barbarian). Your levels of paladin and barbarian stack for determining the number of times you may rage and smite per day, as well as the bonuses your rage provides and the total damage of your smite ability. You must still retain your required alignment in order to keep all of your paladin class features.
Normal: Paladins who multiclass can't be paladins anymore, and barbarians who are lawful are unable to rage or continue to take levels of barbarian.

Well, yet another "hybridize" feat...

Neatly preformed, not out of balance-but it might make the barbarin a little too dip happy for your paladin, loosing just one level in paladin advancement (not that great anyway) for getting rage at the same speed as barbarian, and it won't improve by level 11 unless you go full barbarian anyway...

Yes, but you have to spend a feat to get it to work anyway, so that's what balances it out. Besides, dipping bard is much better for a paladin than dipping barbarian (Cha synergy, skill points, spells and inspire courage versus rage)

This deal seems a little bit too good. Comparing a Paladin 20 with a Paladin 19/Barbarian 1 with this feat:

Paladin 20:
+1 caster level
+Cha mod healing to lay on hands
+1 4th-level spell slot.
One more feat

Barbarian 1/Paladin 19:
Rage 5/day (equivalent of 2 extra rage feats) as a 20th level barbarian, getting a full +8 bonus to Str/Con/+4 will.
+10 feet to movement (or pounce)
+1 HP (on average)
+2 Skill points
+1 Fort

Yeah, this doesn't look at all like a balanced feat. The benefits it grants seems to be worth at least two or three feats. :smallconfused:

Compare it to other similar feats, like Swift Hunter, or Daring Outlaw.

Or really, compare the combination of the two classes to other classes that could be taken instead. The Paladin/Barbarian is still going to be weaker than a Warblade. Let alone anything actually stronger, like a Gish. And if the Paladin/Barbarian tries to go that route, he's not getting full benefit out of the feat.

And honestly your comparison is invalid anyway. You're claiming the feat is giving the benefit of the dip, which is ridiculous. The feat isn't giving bonus skillpoints, HP, or fort saves. The level of Barb does that without the feat at all. So the feat gives you 5 extra rages per day, and makes the rages stronger, at the cost of locking you into two classes and a specific alignment permanently. (Leaving those two classes drastically weakens the benefit of the feat, and leaving the alignment costs you all of your paladin powers AND the barbarian benefits as well).

Even if you want to include the benefits of the dip, consider from the other way around, a Barbarian 19/Paladin1. You lose an HP, 2 skill points, and gain just a Smite Evil attack 5/day, which is bull**** enough to begin with, but when you consider a barbarian has no use for charisma, you're adding MAD on top of it. It's hardly a great tradeoff. Given Barbarian is the better class to start with, seeing it doesn't have any noticeable effect on the Barbarian's power implies that the overall power boost is negligible.

The feat is fine. Your expectations are the problem.
