BOOOOM!

You are both carrying 2 flasks of delicate antidote that you are to administer to a wizard in a nearby town.

The town is currently under seige by goblins. They want to kill the incapacitated wizard and overrun the town.

You win if you deliver the antidote to the wizard, and he stabilizes. Every extra antidote you deliver is worth an extra feat in the next experience.

Boooooooom!

The small, magic driven aircraft the two of you are using blows up.

You each take damage from the explosion. Reflex save for half. Dc 15

[roll0]

Also, falling. 20 feet.

[roll1]

Unless you've got a way to deal with it...

"Crappy, crappy equipment. I told you we should have simply hired a carriage."

Ref save: [roll0]

After both getting caught in the explosion and hitting the ground hard, Jacques lies in a swiftly spreading pool of his own blood.

Question

Any chance those flasks survived the fall? Not likely, I'd expect..."

Hahaha... First knock out.

You lose one flask for failing the reflex, and one for the falling.

I'm not going to be hiding some things that would normally be hidden info, so just roll with it. Also, if you know what you're going to need to roll, just go ahead and roll it to save time.

One more note, please link your character sheet in this thread, and use the same one over again so we don't have to keep exchanging links.

I post from a phone primarily, so that would help me out.

Thanks!

reflex save:
[roll0]

Oh, and Ronald's (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=346552) stats:

[Annd... he's gone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrLbY4-Q99A&feature=related)!] (well, knocked into negatives, anyway) Unless I would have had an action between the explosion and the impact?

Chilingsworth
2011-11-18, 11:20 AM
If I do get an action before hitting the ground, I'll burn a charge on my healing belt to heal myself:
[roll0]

If I can do that, then I'm not in negatives and am able to help my Jaques. Otherwise we're both down and likely dead. In either case, all the antidote is destroyed, so we lose this round, I guess.

NeverSleep
2011-11-18, 11:22 AM
The only action you can take after exploding is a jump or tumble check if you succeeded on the ref check.

You can character mod now, or wait until you both bleed out, lol.

In the second go you'll have a full round before the explosion.

casting feather fall is an inmeddiate action, if you can do it, we'll be able to no matter what. If you can cast the spell, then I probably shouldn't have bought a safewing emblem. Oh well. So, does take 2 start now? Oh, and I forgot about the flaws

pirateking89

Nah, gonna cast resistance to have a better chance at the ref save. If I don't make that, I'm not awake to cast feather fall anyway. The emblem was a good investment.

As you two are talking, 8 goblins run up to you from the east.

You are in a small clearing with invisible walls impassable mountains to the North, South, and West. There is a boulder off about 40 feet to the North that would make a decent hiding spot.

They are charging and have what looks like throwing spears in their hands.

Jacques has lost both of his antidotes. One for explosion, no save. One from falling damage.

pirateking89
2011-11-18, 09:24 PM

Jacques has lost both of his antidotes. One for explosion, no save. One from falling damage.

He didn't take any falling damage, he got featherfall cast. He was reduced to 0hp by the explosion, that left him concious. He cast featherfall *which you can do in this circumstance* and became unconcious as a result. However, the featherfall prevented him from taking any damage from the fall. I then healed him up to full successfully.

Also I'd prefer to make it in the next "Experience" because I'm not super keen on re-challenge setting this one.

Tell me how many rounds it took to get this all done, and what your plans are for the next few moments...

The area you've landed in is a clearing with no notable features, save a 20 foot tall boulder on the northern edge, 40' away. There is a(invisible wall) sheer rock face to the north, south, and west. The only way "out" is east. The boulder is right up against the wall. The clearing is mostly a circle. The machine lies 15 feet to the west of you. You were traveling east towards the city.

Chilingsworth
2011-11-20, 12:49 PM
It took three (3) rounds after Jaques landed: one round per wand charge.

"Jaques I suggest we hid behind that boulder while we recontoiter the area."

I suggest the above as soon as Jaques is able to move, using move actions to get there and standard actions to heal.
If anything hostile shows up, I drink my potion of invisibility while hiding behind the boulder

pirateking89
2011-11-20, 04:44 PM
(On round two I can start moving, on round three, I'm fully healed and we're both at the big rock. Jacques is using his airstep shoes to fly just above the ground 20'/ round)

"You wait here, I fly up, check. You seein' any ledges in the rock? Need a place to hold onto to get real high."

Spot: [roll0]

NeverSleep
2011-11-20, 05:36 PM
I'm a big confused at what you're looking for... A climbing hold or a ledge big enough to stand on?

pirateking89
2011-11-20, 06:17 PM
Either. A place to hold myself between rounds.

(As a clarification, my boots let me fly 20'/ round. I have to end that movement supported by something or else I fall. I'm looking for a ledge w/in range to stand on to get a view of the valley as a whole)

NeverSleep
2011-11-20, 09:12 PM
There are several spots you feel like you could rest on for a moment, imagine the badlands. When you see this wall its fairly sheer, but there are small outcroppings that you could maybe rest on if you were to be careful...(need balance or climb checks to hang out there).

If you're on your way up this time, the spot you have in mind is first the top of the 20 foot boulder, then maybe you could get a bit higher next round to take a peak?

pirateking89
2011-11-21, 07:06 AM
Yeah, I'll fly to the top of the rock, then drop prone, if there's enough room to lay.

NeverSleep
2011-11-21, 09:38 AM
There's enough room, the top is sheer flat, like the side of the mountains.

Also, you find a greatsword with a skeletal hand still attached to it.

pirateking89
2011-11-21, 04:39 PM
I'll lay flat, peeking my head up over the top to see what I can.

NeverSleep
2011-11-21, 05:44 PM
Ok....

You hide on top of the rock, and your partner behind it.

A minute after the crash, 8 goblins come hustling around the corner. (80 feet away) The clearing is like a toilet bowl in shape. Your rock is on the northern side.

When they come around the corner, you can only assume they see neither of you. Two stay near the opening, one of those shooting an arrow into the air, a low whistle.

The other 6 split up into threes and are starting a search. They are talking to each other.

Chilingsworth
2011-11-21, 06:35 PM
I ready an action to drink my potion of invisibility if I think they're about to look on my side of the rock, and don't move (thus requiring no move silently check)

pirateking89
2011-11-21, 06:35 PM
Jacques says quietly down to his partner.
"8 gobs. 3 Parties. How you want to stop them? Also, here."

2011-11-21, 07:05 PM

In post 80, one threatened. Then it missed.

Looks like they've got one more apiece.

20's an auto-hit, so I at least take regular damage from the attack. It's why I went with the 2 (half of the crit damage). At this point, everything should be all caught up. So, on to the last of the goblin-y attacks?

NeverSleep
2011-11-23, 11:22 AM
One of the two goes down.

This round two of the goblins are talking, and they both search their bags for a moment.

One comes up with a small bomb, the other a lighting mechanism. They light it and toss it up to where you are.

3 attack with what looks like their last javelins.

The one off in the distance scurries out of sight, after having witnessed your archery skill kill his buddy. He went behind the sheer rock face.

Chilingsworth

How many goblins are left? And does the one wiht a bow still have a supply of arrows?

NeverSleep
2011-11-23, 12:44 PM
You can't tell if he has arrows left. There are 5 around the rock, and one in hiding near the opening.

pirateking89
2011-11-23, 03:39 PM
Jacques hurls himself to his feet, then uses his fly speed to touch down on the ground on the far side of the rock from the goblins. On his way down, he lets out his best attempt at a death scream, hoping they'll think they finished him off with one of the javelins.

Bluff: [roll0]

When on the ground, he'll drop his bow at the base of the rock - hopefully out of harm's way.

"If you're here, heal me now."

Ronald uses his wand to heal Jaques.

let's see if three charges do it:

charge 1:
[roll0]

charge 2:
[roll1]

charge 3:
[roll2]

EIDT: negated the second and third charges due to clarification of circumstances.

Note, the above shouldn't break my invisibility since it's not a hostile action.

Maybe the battlmap wasn't clear. The rock is right next to the sheer rock face.

pirateking89
2011-11-23, 04:07 PM
We were hiding behind the rock before, yes? Or was that only behind from the angle of the entrance to the valley, not objectively behind?

NeverSleep
2011-11-23, 04:27 PM
Right...

The rock not being attached to the rock face, but fallen right next to it with a relatively level surface on top. About '15 in diameter, roughly disc shaped on the top.

You were behind it from the perspective that you hid yourselves on the west side of it, while the goblins came from the east(primarily, some were south-ish from checking out the wreckage.

pirateking89
2011-11-23, 04:29 PM
OKay, then gonna take the same actions, minus the death scream, and try to end on the side with the least number of goblins.

Chilingsworth
2011-11-23, 04:40 PM
My actions remain unchanged, except that Jaques only gets the first shot of healing. Note I have my shield in my other hand.

NeverSleep
2011-11-23, 05:55 PM
To clarify, you're on the ground, standing right?

Then you get hit with the charge from the cure wand.

You are on the west side of the rock, 2 goblins nearby 1 partially covered by the rock, and two out of sight for the moment. The wall, you, two goblins in a line away from you.

An approximation:

Wwwwwwwwwwwr

Where does the cure stick stand?

Chilingsworth

By my count: 21 charges remaining.

How many rounds have passed since I saw the goblins coming around the rock (the point at which I used my potion of invisibility)?

NeverSleep
2011-11-23, 09:27 PM
This is the fourth round that is currently happening.

pirateking89
2011-11-25, 06:48 AM
So we're in 4th round, goblins turn, then move to fifth round, Ronald's turn. Then I make with the Incarnate Weapon Crush-y. Are they adjacent to me, or just close?

Chilingsworth
2011-11-25, 11:15 AM
Is Jaques still injured?

pirateking89
2011-11-25, 05:45 PM
Nope, your first charge from last time left him all healed up.

Chilingsworth
2011-11-25, 05:55 PM
Then I stay invisible, with my shield in one hand and my wand in the other, and stay as close to Jaques as I can to keep him healed while he fights the goblins.

Three goblins move to grapple you, now that you're off the rock.

Three touch attacks
[roll0]
[roll1]

Followed by 3 grapple checks

[roll5]

These are medium sized goblins, ps. Thus the d6 javs + more HP than the srd version.

Two are on either side of you. You're partner closest to the rock face but next to you as well.

You're surrounded!

The other two come around the corner and have no actions once they see what's happening. One takes out a bomb.

pirateking89
2011-11-26, 02:41 PM
Incarnate Weapon AoO on the first:

So I drop one and beat the other in the grapple. Woohoo.

Jacques swings his warhammer in a wide arc, crushing in the head of another one of the goblins who were threatening him.

SMASH!!!

Another goes down.

One of the remaining goblins lights his bomb and tosses it at your feet, then darts off.

The rest of the goblins start retreating as fast as they can as well.

(toward the entrance of the clearing)

....Turkey Day Hint....

I guess chillingsworth is just gonna wait until his invisibility runs out or something.

So, I'll charge after the one lagging behind in the fleeing group.

I'll attempt to get away from the bomb.

If I fail:

You both are able to get away from the bomb. It explodes after you take a chunk out of the furthest back goblin.

There are two left that you're chasing, and one far off with a bow.

(more to come)

The goblin you hit is down, and you have two more in your sights.

You see two warning arrows go up. Both high pitched. One from just outside the entrance here, and one less than half a mile away, maybe a football field or two away.

Out of initiatve for the chase, what actions do you take? You lost a good deal of distance taking the one down.

Is wizard giving chase?

pirateking89
2011-12-07, 07:07 AM
I'll keep pursuing them, but at a lowered pace, trying to let them get some distance before we make it out of the canyon.

Chilingsworth

Ok, I have a new power chord. So... would you please remind me of the current situation?

NeverSleep
2011-12-08, 09:52 AM
You're invisible while your comrade has chased out most of the goblins and has two running out while one was hiding in the back.

The goblins disappear out of view shortly and you see three arrows go into the air, all three with high pitch.

You ended your pursuit at the opening of the clearing. To the North and south you can see sheer rock face. The northern direction has a small opening which you can't see into, but you see shade coming out of. About 60' out.

You can presume that the goblins have dissapeared over the rise to the east. You can see the city about 1000 feet away, with the force 700 feet away, and right up on the city.

The info you were given seems correct. A larger part of the force is on this side of the city, but there is clearly a perimeter around it as well.

Chilingsworth
2011-12-08, 05:15 PM
Ok. So, Jaques, how shall we approach this?

pirateking89
2011-12-08, 05:58 PM
"Fast. Keep moving, quick as we can. First thing's first, see what survived the explosion."

After giving one more shout at the retreating goblins, Jacques returns to the base of the rock formation and checks for his bow and the greatsword he threw down.

NeverSleep
2011-12-12, 02:06 PM
Bow and greatsword are both there.

The greatsword is larger than a normal one, but feels light as you grasp the handle.

It speaks to you when you test its weight.

"Ah, good to see you again. Good luck this time."

pirateking89
2011-12-12, 08:18 PM
"Stupid talky sword. C'mon, we'll figure it out."
Jacques strings the bow across his back and straps the sword to his hip.

Chilingsworth
2011-12-12, 08:28 PM
Wait... you have a talking greatsword... is it an intelligent magic item, or just a parlor trick?

NeverSleep
2011-12-13, 10:22 AM
The sword spoke in common, and it was audible, not mental. You both could hear since you were reasonablyclose to each other.

NeverSleep

pirateking89
2011-12-22, 09:09 AM
Sure, moving along. Down the same path the goblins took.
