I'm slowly familiarizing myself with Pathfinder, mostly by looking over the changes in the combat feats (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats). I've found an interesting combo but am uncertain of one thing.

Monk Level Whatever
Feats: Combat Expertise (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/combat-expertise-combat), Combat Reflexes (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/combat-reflexes-combat), Panther Style (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/panther-style-combat-style), Panther Claw (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/panther-claw-combat), Panther Parry (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/panther-parry-combat), Improved Trip (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/improved-trip-combat---final), Improved Disarm (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/improved-disarm-combat---final), Greater Trip (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/greater-trip-combat---final), Greater Disarm (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/greater-disarm-combat---final), Two Weapon Fighting (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/two-weapon-fighting-combat), Break Guard (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/break-guard-combat).

The monk activtes Panther Style and moves through an enemies space, provoking an AoO. Panther Style allows the Monk to make his own AoO after the enemy attacks, but Panther Parry & Panther Claw allow the monk to make his AoO before the enemy makes his. That's pretty clear.

However. What if the monk makes a Trip attempt as his AoO? With Greater Trip: "Whenever you successfully trip an opponent, that opponent provokes attacks of opportunity". So the monk trips the enemy, which provokes a different AoO for the monk to take. But the enemy still has yet to take his AoO from the monk moving through his threatened space.

So does the enemy take his AoO before the monk takes his AoO granted by the trip attempt, or does the monk make the AoO granted by the trip attempt before the enemy takes his?

To further muddy the issue, if the monk gets to take his trip attempt granted AoO first, let's say that he uses that AoO to make a disarm attempt. Break Guard allows the monk to make an off-hand attack as a swift action after successfully disarming someone. Would the enemy get his AoO before the swift action off-hand attack or after?

Unless PF really changed up the wording on these matters, you're seeing equivalency where there is none. The Monk in question is allowed to make a "retaliatory attack" and not specifically an AoO, meaning abilities that require an AoO wouldn't trigger; further, it's specifically an unarmed strike that's granted, and not a generic attack, meaning it can't be swapped out for a trip attempt. If PF has anything like the Knock-Down feat, though, that should allow you to get a trip attempt out of it.
