Force claw is located on page 97 of the Spell Compendium.

It reads in part:

"Force claw creates a Medium claw of invisible force at any spot you designate within the spell's range. The claw guards the area of a 20-ft cube that you specify.... The claw is able to make attacks of opportunity against any enemy that provokes such attacks within the guarded area."

1. Does force claw strike as an invisible attacker?
2. Can it be defeated by effects that normally prevent attacks of opportunity, such as total concealment?
3. Does it suffer from miss chances such as those provided by blur, displacement, mirror image, or fog cloud?

I'd say:

1. Yes.

2. Yes (cover, for instance).

3. Yes.

Well, if your Lockdown-AoO Crusader cannot show up for the game session, you can use (multiple) castings of Force Claw instead. ;-)

The proposal under consideration is freezing fog + force claw, which raises the question of how the claw interacts with the fog.

I'd say it is affected. As it is flying, it does not have to make balance checks. It also does not have HP etc., so it is unharmed. But its movement would be hindered.
