YEEEEEEAAAAH! What is the source for that? I put this in media since it almost has to be related somehow. Someone makes one hell of a pun, puts on sunglasses and you hear YEEEEAAAH!
Just an example, here. (http://www.cad-comic.com/sillies/)

CSI: Miami theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR3jnW2kcUs). The guy ALWAYS has a hilariously dumb line, and puts on sunglasses. People decide the "YEAAAAAAAAAAH" from the opening should go there. So it went there. AND THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!:smalleek::smallbiggrin:

Now I'm not certain about this having never seen the show in question. But I believe the origin is thus:

In some procedural cop show, honestly couldn't tell you which, the episodes would all start with the main character making a horribly inappropriate pun at the crime scene of the week. Then he would put on his sunglasses right before the theme song, which starts with the famous "YEEEEEEAAAAH!", starts.

Edit: Ninjas everywhere.

Ah, remember back in the days when Weeble and Bob were just starting to suck but hadn't gotten all the way yet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUflBKApI98)?

I'm a bit surprised Traab didn't know that... I thought he was more in touch with meme culture.

But yeah, Horatio Cane is soooo well known for that. German TV spoof show SWITCH makes him put them on and take them off ALL OVER though not always with the sound bit when parodying CSI Miami. For anyone speaking German. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTXv18tiuJ8)

Nah, im not much in the meme culture. Mainly because they are usually easy to learn about, like video clips or something. But for things like this, its a lot harder to figure out, and ive never watched csi in any of its forms so that wouldnt have worked. Sort of like the current thread title for dominic deegan. I had never heard of the whole lex luthor stole 40 pies thing. So when everyone started agreeing with, "And Thats Terrible" it made no sense to me, and I wasnt even sure of where to start searching to find it since all I had was a partial bit of the whole thing.

It actually had it's origins in CSI Vegas, where Gil Grissom did (and now that he's left, the other characters now do) make an appropriately witty quip in the pre-opening credit stinger. (The trope was, at one stage, called the Grissom One Liner on TV Tropes).

When CSI Miami started, they carried on the idea, but Horatio's awesomely ludicrious delivery (and the sunglasses) made it much more parody-able and it gained more traction in the public mind. (CSI Miami is inherently siller the it's counterparts, which in my opinion makes it all the more awesome!)

The real irony is that Grissom's one-liners were more consistently humorous (Horatio's sometimes nowaday tend to be fairly generic statements, rather than quips), but were delivered in William Peterson's more understated manner, rather than David Caruso's inimical "style"...
