Here now is the complete list (with pictures) of every new item in the CafePress (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick) store. In all cases, click on the picture to be taken directly to the page for that design.

First, Celia skates her way to victory (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.592615788) in the continuation of our existing ornament line:

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Christmas2011_Ornament.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.592615788)

The second ornament features Roy and Xykon (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.592618225) in battle. This new line will also continue next year with another hero/villain pairing.

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/BattleOrnament2011.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.592618225)

Whether you're a fan or a fan of not being a fan, we can all agree that sometimes, even the most sparkly vampire needs to get a face full of holy light (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8305389).

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Twilight_Durkon.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8305389)

This original t-shirt idea explores the hot new pastime (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8296606) that's sweeping the realm:

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/FantasyFantasy.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8296606)

Straight from the pages of Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales (http://www.ookoodook.com/store/OOTSSnipsSnailsAndDragonTales.shtml), this shirt features the vampiric half-dragon half-troll lycanthropic fiendish snail. Tremble at his illogical glory! (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8308826)

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Snail_White.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8308826)

Based on OOTS #780 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0780.html), this shirt hypes the epic battle (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8298480) between a completely unskilled serf and a domestic pet.

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/HousecatVsCommoner.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8298480)

The old Banjo t-shirt was long overdue for a redesign, so we've brought out a new series featuring this slick new logo (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8311164). It's never been cooler to worship a puppet.

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/BanjoBelieve.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8311164)

After the EVIL, GOOD, and CHAOS (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8296513) shirts of previous years, Enor and Gannji expound on the virtues of being True Neutral (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8295125) on this year's alignment shirt.

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Neutral_Mug.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8295125)

Based on the stick figure family stickers that seem to be popping up on every car, these car stickers and magnets (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8206142) show that you are a true connoisseur of stick figure excellence:

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/FamilySticker_OOTS.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8206142)

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/FamilySticker_LG.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8206142)

The following designs are a continuation of our OOTS for Kids! (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/7475368) line that we started last year. The original designs featuring the OOTS members themselves are, of course, still available.

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Kids_Nale.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8313938)http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Kids_OChul.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8313957)http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Kids_Thog.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8313953)http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Kids_Hinjo.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8314188)http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Kids_Lien.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8314188)

We also are carrying laptop skins (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8296753) for the first time ever, in a variety of sizes. In addition to bringing some of the above designs (and a few of the existing ones) over, the following two designs are unique to the laptop skin:

http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/Laptop_Posters.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.593697934)
http://www.GiantITP.com/Images/CafePress2011/OOTS03_Panorama.gif (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.594813444)

EDIT: Forgot to mention that we also now have OOTS shot glasses (http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick/8203978), in a variety of characters.

I wonder if this picture implies Leeky Windstaff is a part of the current iteration of the Linear Guild. Probably just needed someone to fill Durkon's place, but it's a possibility! I can live in hope.

Anyway, some nice designs in there. I must say I find the "My Evil Twin Did It" design incredibly cute.

Which designs are available as messenger bags? I like this bag (http://www.cafepress.co.uk/orderofthestick.592841174), but so far I've only found it in this and the Turn Undead design. I'd really love to have one with the OOTS quotes - "One Saving Throw at a Time (http://www.cafepress.co.uk/orderofthestick/7481589)" is probably my favourite, but I also love "I'm Participating! (http://www.cafepress.co.uk/orderofthestick/2114523)"

It is not just you. There's a typo.

This design is temporarily unavailable while I fix the problem.

Typo fixed on the actual products now. I will update the ad banners appropriately as well.

As far a I can tell, two people ordered the Neutral design with the typo in the last hour, but unless CafePress is far, FAR more efficient than I think they are, the production of the products won't start for several hours yet, and thus the shirts will have the corrected art. If anyone happens to actually receive a misprinted shirt, they can be returned to CafePress for a new one. My apologies for the mistake.

The messenger bag is a newer product from CafePress. It didn't exist as an option when the Quote shirts were made, and thus only some of the new designs are available on it. The same goes for certain shirt styles. In the case of the bag, specifically, I didn't put the design on many products due to the expense of the bag and the yellowish natural tint it gives to the artwork...I only chose designs that I thought wouldn't look awful if tinted in that way.

While it is possible I may go back someday and update every shirt design to have every new style/product, it's unlikely that I will get a chance to do so anytime soon, as that would literally take hours of clicking through and checking them all.

I love the Fantasy fantasy and Turn Undead designs. And the laptop skins. And the car stickers. Oh, who am I kidding, I love all of the designs

Also, I'll get the two new ornaments
(Quick question, does anybody actually hang them on the tree? I'm too cautious to use them as decoration: Christmas at our place often plays out like Housecat vs. Christmas tree. If I think about it too much, it actually makes me a bit sad :smallfrown:)

I've seen the stickers in cars, too - so have a question about these OOTS variety -- Are these just a big bumper sticker, or do the stick figures stick directly to the window (inside or outside) w/o the black background?

The black background is there, but the whole sticker is a translucent "see-thru." So you can stick it to the outside of the window and still see through it while driving. Or you can switch it to a traditional opaque bumper sticker (or car magnet), your choice.

(I did try to get rid of the black background altogether and just have white outlines, but because CafePress shows the image of the item on a white background, it looked like I was trying to sell blank rectangles. I didn't think many people would buy that.)

Giant-

You deserve to earn money from content this good. In past years I have placed orders and thrown away the product because your work should produce healthy income for you but I do not like my home to be cluttered with things. I do not want to buy and throw-away this year. As someone who checks this site daily, I want it to bring as much joy to you as it does to me and income-production contributes to that (it's obviously not everything). What do you suggest? For me the ads on the forum have been ideal.

Best,
Eustice Pious

Whatever else, please stop doing that. Creating items and then throwing them away just produces meaningless waste in the world, and the environment has enough problems as it is. It is far, far more upsetting to me that you would order my products just to put them into a landfill than that you would simply not buy them at all. I would rather have less money than I would be responsible for that. It literally goes against everything I personally believe.

If you really want to bring me joy and don't want to own a piece of merchandise, take the money you would have spent and donate it to a charity. Preferably an environmentally-based one, such as African Wildlife Foundation (http://www.awf.org/) or the Nature Conservancy (http://www.nature.org/). Or, if that's not palatable, then just don't spend anything. I will consider it a boon to know that I'm not contributing to more garbage.

The best thing I can do is link you to CafePress' own shipping estimate page: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/index.aspx?page=shipping.aspx

Generally, around next week or so, they'll post their announcement of what the deadline to order by Christmas will be.

I ordered some merchandise (both for me and my daughter). I love the art work, quotes are hilarious, read the comic - generally I'm a huge fan of your stuff. But I have to tell you it's hard to bring myself to pay $22-30 dollars for a printed t-shirt. I appreciate that your trying to make money and I'm sure cafepress requires a large sum of that money too, I just thought I would post that if the shirts were in the $15 - 20 dollar range I would buy more of them.

Thanks for your time and happy holidays!

Thank you for your order, and I understand. The thing is, CafePress charges me between $16-$30 for a shirt to begin with. The only portion of those t-shirt prices which actually comes to me is the last $6 or $7, depending on the design and product. This is because CafePress is a Print-on-Demand printer, which means the per-unit cost is high compared to a bulk printer. So I'm actually incapable of lowering the price to $15 for any shirt (or $20 for all but the most basic tees) without simply not offering them at all.

The reason I use them anyway is that because they are P.O.D., I don't need to pay them upfront in order for them to make the shirts. They simply charge the amount listed, then produce the shirt and send me a portion. Also, it allows me to experiment with designs and/or shirt styles that may end up being less popular without any risk that I will end up with a huge financial loss (not to mention a warehouse full of unwanted stuff).

By way of contrast, we sell bulk printed tees at Ookoodook (http://www.ookoodook.com/store/tshirts.shtml), which you will see are exactly in the $15-20 range...but you'll also notice that there are only a handful of designs and each is available on exactly one style of t-shirt. It's also hard to predict what sizes to stock; some of those shirts have sold out of one size while having dozens of another left. As much as I would like to be able to lower the prices, unfortunately it's not really viable to switch to bulk printing for all of my t-shirt needs.

I nearly squeed when I saw the car stickers. (Window st - ! YES. And, and there's Team Evil and a magnet option and and and...) That could've been embarrassing. Then I realized that a) no car, and b) no monies. Why, oh why, did I drink it all away?

Hmm. How can I connive someone else into buying them for me? Regardless, these are awesome and I want one and I'm so happy that they're almost tangibly out there, but when I do come into some disposables I will most likely blow it on completing my collection of the books, so that I'll have more source material to back up my...research.

Still. Made my day.

These new designs look great! The shirt prices on cafepress are killer, but I do understand the economic and business sense behind the decision. I looked through the new merchandise again today. I'm still not sure what will end up on my Definite Wish List, but a thought occured to me. Should I ever have twins, both of them will be dressed in the My Evil Twin Did It shirts, with felt pin-on arrows, one pointing to the left and the other to the right. There's no escaping the webcomic geekery

Also, I guess I'll be waiting for the LAW design (Celia? The attorneys? Next year's Holiday announcement? *giddy with excitement*) and then I'll get a complete alignment set :smallcool:

I find their lack of stick figure arms ... disturbing.

Um, guys, has anyone else noticed that Leeky Windstaff seems to still be a part of the Linear Guild? CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE HIM?

I wish shirtless Jacob had made it onto the Turn Undead shirt. Buying it anyway!

Sigh. If it wasn't already obvious from stuff like the OoTS poster and the cover of SoD:

The presence, absence, position, or style of any character on any piece of merchandise has no bearing on any future (or past) plot points. I design the merchandise to look good and sell well. Usually, I specifically design the merchandise in order to avoid any sort of plot relevance; the Thog kids shirt still has all his tusks unbroken, for example. I generally choose the most "iconic" look for each character, if there is such a thing.

In the case of Leeky, there were three reasons I chose him:
He was shorter than Hilgya, and thus better parodied the "child" slot of the original family stickers.
He is the only druid in the comic, and has strong appeal to people who like druids.
He is significantly less of a pain in the ass to convert to line art than Hilgya is, due to differences in how I constructed the art way back during the first book. And I had a lot of art to make for those shirts.
I assure you that reason #3 was the biggest factor, by a fair margin.

Also, my lack of commenting on a topic does not implicitly confirm or deny the proposition being put forth. Sometimes, I just don't care enough to respond. I may be low on time and decide that something is too trivial to bother answering. Heck, the fact that I respond to things at all is a relatively recent development.

You could always pick a playgrounder at random, contact him, and purchase stuff for him.

The current sale is a little underwhelming: $0.50 off ornaments and $1 off stockings, no coupon needed. I'm not sure whether there will also be a coupon for Black Friday, but if so, I haven't heard about it yet.

Why are the shot glasses and laptop cases not advertised more prominently?!!

Those are the only things I am marginally likely to buy, and yet they're the last things listed. Especially shot glasses, since they're fantastic gifts (or stocking-stuffers, but maybe not at these prices...), deserve more than a postscript.

I love D&D and OotS but I'm a closeted gamer, so I would never wear a gaming t-shirt* and don't know many people IRL who game for whom I could buy one. But I'm seriously considering a shot glass (and maybe one as a present, too) and half-considering a laptop skin. A laptop skin is particularly appropriate for a webcomic!

Also, have you considered shot glasses with just characters' heads? I would without a doubt buy one of those.

That's a lot about my personal preferences, but consider it market research. :smallcool:

Too bad the Evil Twin & Troublemaker designs aren't on adult size shirts. I would be tempted to buy one of each if so.
Love the designs overall, lots of good stuff. I'll be making a wish list while waiting for a new sale to come along.

Two new sales to update you on:

First, for "Cyber Monday," Nov. 28 only, it's free shipping (economy shipping only) on orders over $40. Coupon Code: SHOPNOV28

After that, Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, it's 15% off orders of $45 or more. Coupon Code: ADEC1145

Now, that second sale is a far, FAR better deal than free economy shipping. If you're reading this and planning on ordering, I highly recommend not ordering on Monday and instead placing your order on Tuesday. "Economy shipping" only costs about $5.25 for one item plus $0.50 for every additional item anyway. This means that 15% off will almost always be more savings once you go past the $40 mark anyway, and could potentially be much more if you really had a lot of items you were buying.

Giant, I followed your advice last year and ordered from cafepress.co.uk, and it worked just fine. Last year's 10$ off coupon worked without difficulty, but this year's 15% off coupon is "not valid for my purchases". Is it the .co.uk-site or maybe the shipping destination (Austria)? Do you have any other coupon codes up your sleeve? I'll wait for now, hopefully the next coupon will work, but the gift giving unit would like the order to arrive before Christmas :/

I have no idea what would be the problem; my understanding is that the UK and CA sites are exactly the same as the US one, in terms of sales and such. Does your order contain any of the "excluded items" from the fine print?

I don't know what coupon codes may be coming down the pike after this one, they don't tell me until a day before they start. In previous years, they had a coupon or sale every day until Christmas, but as you can see with the Cyber Monday sale, some of them are subpar.

I have the two ornaments and a T-shirt in my basket, last year's order looked much the same (well, there were more ornaments). That's what confused me as well, last year's coupon was accepted without a hitch for the same product categories :smallconfused:

I guess I'll just wait a bit longer and see what's up next/if one of the next coupons works. Should push come to shove, I'll order without a coupon, but if I can get one to work it'd be nice (the order is for me, but it's a present from someone else, so if I can use a coupon they'll appreciate it and I think it's the least I can do).
For now I'll say thank you for your time, and I'll report back how the next one(s) work

I couldn't get the coupon to work for my order. I just went ahead and ordered anyways. Didn't feel like contacting them or waiting to find out if it was going to work later.

CafePress is advertising that orders made today (12/20) can still get to locations within the continental US with standard shipping on or before December 24th. So if you want to save on shipping and are planning to make an order, now's probably the time. Starting tomorrow, I would expect only expedited shipping to arrive in time for Christmas.

Of course, if you're not buying for Christmas Day, this doesn't matter.

First of all, a very belated Happy Holidays to you all, and Happy New Year.

I promised to report back about the coupons (shame on me that it took me so long). Well, I tried a few more, but none of them worked, not even the ones CafePress sent out via email. I ordered anyways – the order arrived well before Christmas, and even earlier than estimated, just like last year (although it was sent from the US as opposed to last year's Polish package, very curious).
Other positive comments: this year, the ornaments were packed in bubble wrap, which I think is even safer than the sorta-thick plastic they came in last year. Also, the T-shirt is longer than the one I ordered last year (they are both Women's cut and size M, but have different manufacturer labels. Mystery solved :smallwink:).

It's a bit difficult to read the text in the speech bubbles of the T-shirt if one's standing very close (it looks like the text was printed twice, and the second time not 100% over the first time :smallconfused:), but from a reasonable distance (say, 0.5 to 1 meter) it's not a problem at all. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the printer, because it's *only* the text and none of the artwork, but I don't really mind (and I'm not really in the mood for trouble shoots that cost time and energy (as well as money) on both sides), so I'll just wear it this way. :smalltongue:

All in all, I'm satisfied with the order, and I'm really looking forward to next year's ornament(s)

Sorry about the coupons, I really have no idea what that's about. CafePress got an earful from me about their coupon policy this year anyway. I felt that they were shortchanging Shop customers while giving people who sell through their Marketplace discounts of 30% or more, and there were no sales at all for the last nine days of the Christmas shopping season. A definite step down from previous years.

It's the Fantasy fantasy design. Right now, the shirt is in the laundry; I'll check in again later today and post some photographs.

Just in case it helps the troubleshooting, I also got the Fantasy fantasy design. It didn't seem to have this problem. The one I purchased was a gift; it was the Organic Woman's Fitted T-Shirt in the Galaxy color.

The shirt I ordered is a Fantasy fantasy Women's T-Shirt, white, size M. Here are two cropped snapshots where it is visible (I hope), spoilered to save space:

As seen in the first image, the lineart is pin sharp. Very curious, indeed. :smallconfused:

I hope this helps, Giant.

That is very odd. It's especially odd that none of the other black lines in the image are experiencing the same effect. I would expect that if it were something like a slippage of a plate or inkjet (or whatever they use to print these shirts), it would affect all instances of the same color, but here it affects only the text.

I'll pass these along, but I think unless there's a whole lot of other people with the same problem, it won't have been anything in my artwork that did it. More likely a fluke misalignment or something. If you want to return it and order a new one, it probably won't have the same issue.
