I want to add a single item to next loot drop for my lvl 5 PCs, that thay can find really usefull. Something beyond your old regular +2 armor. And something not TOO expencive (maybe not EXACTLY by the loot charts, but close for lvl 5.)

Got any nice ideas, playground?

Immovable Rod is an epic item. We got one in the campaign I'm in and have already figured out some super awesome ideas on how to make it effective. It's a door stopper, a slow fall spell, a ladder and even a weapon against charging animals lol.

I'd start with one of the Fabulous Four (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8235936&postcount=8). But anything from Shax's Type III upgrade list would work well.

I really love the Hat of Disguise. At 1.800 gp it doesn't cost too much and is very useful.

I once gave my pc's a magical hookah with various types of magical tobacco (5 min. of smoking gives, depending on the tobacco; obscuring mist/ summon smoke elemental/ gaseous form/ low quality smoke illusions/ other things). The price of this would be dependant of the quantity of tobacco.
