I know there are ways to bring summon spells down to a standard action (rapid spell feat, rapid summoning acf), does anyone know of a way to turn the power astral construct into standard action?

Personal Construct (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070411a) comes close.

The 3rd level of Ectopic Adept (CPsi) lets you do this a limited number of times per day.

[Any power}linked -> Astral Construct should bring you the astral construct in the next round but you don't actually cast for 1-round. So you skip the concetration check.

Also if you have the metapower feat applied to a 1st lvl power with regards to Linked power metapsionic. Then you gain a free ppoint applied to Astral construct. This means that every even level you summon an Astral construct a level higher.(combo with overchanel...)

MAgic Of Incarnum has a 7th level power named "Soul Crystal" if you read how it works you will bump into the beautiful phrace "Manifecting a power from the soul crystal is a standard action", And with the crystal you may also have your psicrystal manifest it!

If you are an erudite you can get Arcane Spellsurge as a power and change it's work with regards to manifesting...

With DM's Approval:
With full transperacy, Lesser rods of rapid( they are not printed anywhere though) can do the trick as you still manifest a 1st lvl power.(Watch the globes!!)

Also with full transperacy you might be able to take the rapid metamagic in it's metapsionic version.

That's it, I am out of ideas, Zaq said the rest of what i can think of.(Damn this guy:smalltongue:)

The chronocharm of the uncaring archmage does it 1/day. Add more uses by multiplying the cost by the number of uses you have for it.

Also, the 3.5 constructor PrC (on The Mind's Eye) does this as well (and it's awesome for making constructs anyway).

thanks. Seems like my best bet is to see if dm will allow a homebrewed metapsionic version of the rapid spell feat.

@Raendyn: Even with full psionic/magic transparency, metamagic feats do not translate over. In fact, no feats do.

Metamagic rods, however, do.

Metamagic rods, however, do.

The rods function by referencing the feats, and therefore would fail to overcome transparency as well. For instance, Rod of Empower states "...empowered as though using the Empower Spell feat."

You can't apply the rods to anything that the feats would fail to effect, just like you can't use a Rod of Quicken on a 10-minute casting-time spell.

Except for this part:

Though not explicitly called out in the spell descriptions or magic item descriptions, spells, spell-like abilities, and magic items that could potentially affect psionics do affect psionics.

The item calls out the feat itself, but never mentions (nor has it been errata'ed) if it ignores transparency.

Furthermore, the word "empowered" has a definition in the Psionic rules: Increase the variable, numeric effects by 50%.

It doesn't ignore transparency, nor does it have to. The rod will work with powers... and try to apply the Empower Spell feat to them, which does nothing. Or Extend Spell, or Quicken Spell. Because transparency doesn't extend to feats, none of the feats invoked by the rod are altered.

If you somehow had a rod of Empower SLA, then that would work, as Empower SLA does work on powers.

Indeed, that is what Empower Power does to powers. Empower Spell does not.
