I asked this in the FAQ thread and never got an answer, and it really isn't a simple question, so I suppose I don't blame them. But I'd like people's opinion on the following:
If a creature with 8 int is subjected to a Bestow Curse spell which gives it a "-6 decrease to an ability score", it now has an effective int of 2. Per the SRD:
"An animal has an Intelligence score of 1 or 2. A creature of humanlike intelligence has a score of at least 3."
The description of the Handle Animal skill notes "You can use this skill on a creature with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2 that is not an animal, but the DC of any such check increases by 5."
Does this mean a cursed 8 int humanoid can be trained as an animal, or is the 'Decrease to an ability score' different enough from Ability Drain that the humanoid is inelligible? Would a humanoid qualify if it was given Intelligence Drain instead?
