I'm in a game that is a kind of amalgam of 1-3.5. My character has the spell polymorph self (as in 1e) and a familiar that can share spells (as in 3.5).
So, I'm wondering if anyone knows some creatures that are very small or make for fun combinations. I'm looking for very small (preferably humanoid) to I can use my familiar as a mount and fly around casting spells. Very small for size ac bonus and since the familiar mount would be a small bird like an owl or something. The DM uses the 1 and 2e monsters manuals for creatures sizes and my copies of those books are a good 200 miles away right now.
