Does anyone know any homebrew that resemble those types of classes? I'm talking about casters that are automatically specialized around one type of school, e.g. Conjuration, Transmutation, etc.

I want to go for an All-Magic-User game but Wizards might be too Tier 1 for that. And I figured homebrews would have more interesting abilities.

I don't know about homebrew, but Healer is theoretically similar. I guess you could call them a Conjuration focus, but it's not what most people would think of.

That's about it, as far as base classes. For PrC's your spoiled for options. Transmogrifist/Warshaper for Trans, IotSV for Abjuration, et cetera.

PF's summoner operates differently (has spells known) but has a focused spell list.

I don't know about homebrew, but Healer is theoretically similar.No, by the rules, Healers have to prepare their spells. This sucks, though, so giving Healers the warmage mechanic is a very common houserule. Well, OK, even with that houserule, Healers still suck, just not quite as much.

They're akin because they're, in the words of the OP, they're "automatically specialized around one type of school", in this case Conjuration - or more precisely, Conjuration (Healing), although they also get to summon companions, and Gate's on their list. It's probably about the most nerf version of a Conjuration specialist anyone could come up with, but it's still a Conjuration specialist caster.

Neither of us mentioned anything about knowing their full list. Where did you get that from? :smallconfused:

I've got a couple of homebrew classes like this in various stages of completion which are similar in concept...

The Elementalist is very similar to the Pathfinder Summoner, save that they pact with specific elementals that they can call. The elementals both receive bonuses from this pact and grant various bonuses to the Summoner they pact with. Only one pacted elemental can be out at any given time, and each one gives different bonuses.

They summon from the 'Summon Nature's Ally' list, although they may only summon things with the [extraplanar] subtype. This means mostly elementals and things from the elemental planes.

They gain the ability to buff up any summoned creatures as they summon them.

They gain a bunch of 'buff' type spells, mostly in Transmuation, although a smattering of Conjuration and Abjuration.

They don't get any 'blastomancy' or 'battlefield control', 99% of their spells are Save: Harmless. The rest are utility spells.

They automatically know their entire spell list, and can spontaneously cast from it.

Then there's the Oracle, who specializes in Divination and Enchantment with a side of Illusion. Bonuses on being able to see through illusions, even if they don't interact with them. Bonuses on successful divinations. UMD as a class skill. Eventually gets Uncanny Dodge and Evasion.

They also know their entire spell list, and spontaneously cast from it.

Still being fleshed out.

they are pretty interesting. I've seen in proposed to do that sort of thing to the Duskblade and Spirit Shaman's concepts, but not seen any work on it in actuality...

The only homebrews I can recall are fleeting examples for E6 that I only remember skimming because I'm more of an E12 kinda guy.

Full-list caster homebrew, you say? Well, there's my own Oracle I made a while back, which is mostly Divination and Abjuration with a few other oracle-y spells thrown in. Others I know of include, but are not limited to:

The Savant (Abjuration+Divination), Summoner (Conjuration), and Spellweaver (Transmutation) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5207270), all by Arguskos;
The Court Mage (Abjuration+Divination) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5824387) and Mutationist (Transmutation) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106138) by Darth Stabber
The Seer (Abjuration+Divination) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158308) and the Spellshifter (Transmutation) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162170) by Frog God
The Barrier Mage (Abjuration+Conjuration) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9866726#post9866726) by The-Mage-King
The Puppet Master (Conjuration+Transmutation) (http://wiki.faxcelestis.net/index.php?title=Puppet_Master) by DragoonWraith
The Planeswalker (Conjuration) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49583) by The Demented One;
The Shadowmage (Illusion+Necromancy) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4700555#post4700555) by Ghost Warlock

Other thematic full-list casters that aren't themed by school are the Alchemist (Chemical/Air/Mental spells) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49554) by GryffonDurime, the Witch Doctor (Buffs/Debuffs/Curses) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60146) by The Glyphstone, and the Time Mage (Time/Speed spells) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93531) by Violet Octopus.

Those should be a good start. :smallwink:

I made a divination specialist class called the haruspex
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213491

Also my Necrotic Infester is essentially a non animating dead type of necromancer so it might count.
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197668

Also I have the constrictor which is a class that solely focuses on battlefield control and nothing else. He is pretty much a conjuration specialist for that reason.
